Which continent do you want to have and all the animals you want in this continent?

I saw that people wrote animals from all continents but that 8 or 10 but not all. So in the thread, write all the animals of the continent you want and say why you love this continent. I specify, Birds that fly - Mammals that fly - Cetaceans - Dinosaurs - Fish - Not accepted. So a single continent?

Me it's Africa
because there is a lack of animals
1. Cobe of lechwe
2. Dik - Kirk's Dik
3. Nile crocodile
4. Caracal
5. Fossa
6. Lemur with turquoise eyes
7. Senegal chameleons
8. Crowned lemur
9. Aye-aye
10. Macaco lemur
11. Indri
12. Coquerel's Sifaka
13. fennec
14. bush pig
15. Meerkat
16. Porcupine
17. Galago
18. rock hyrax
19. Baboon
20. Impala
21. Black Mamba
22. Leopard tortoise
23. Radiated Turtle
24. Spur Turtle

I'm also for an African pack, but the one you would give us would horrify my dreams, most of those animals don't appeal to me at all, Nile Crocodile? The horror.

From your list I would keep: Black Mamba, Crested Porcupine, Meerkat, Fennec, Indri, Aye-Aye, Sifaka, Fossa and Caracal.

Then I'll add: Ratel, Gerenuk, Great Kudu, Waterbuck, Serval, White Rhinoceros, Black Rhinoceros, Gelada, Colobus Monkey, Secretary Bird, Shoebill, Crowned Crane, Marabu, Panther Chameleon, Giant Wata, Ground Hornbill, Red River Hog, Topi, Eland, Guinafowl, Aardwolf, Bat-Eared Fox, African Jacana, African Fishing Eagle, Elephant Shrew, Leopard, Barbary Sheep and Saddle-Billed Stork.

Yes, I think that does it for Africa. Sorry Hyrax, you're boring.

I have to agree with Fossa good on some animals but some don’t appeal at all to me. But this is just my opinion and obviously we all have our own list we’d love to see in game. I’ll pick 8 because that’s what I believe the pack will be.
1) White Rhino- this is a must one rhino in game is simply not enough.
2) Dromedary Camel- I believe we’re getting this animal eventually.
3) Black Rhino- I also believe we’re getting this one so I’ll choose 2 rhinos as I said before the game needs white rhinos.
4) Fennec Fox- another canid but we need these little guys.
5) Hamadryas Baboon- would be my pick for sure. I wouldn’t mind a gelada but I’d favor this species more.
6) Meerkat- most requested animal in game need them.
7) Caracal/Secretary Bird - I’ll take either one of these but want the bird more. I believe we’re getting the African leopard which is ok too although somewhat uncommon in zoos. I’d rather have the Caracal tho. The Secretary Bird would be my final pick tho their unique and the game needs more birds.
8) Black mamba or Rock Python

Europe. I'm making a zoo with sections of all the continents and this is what I noticed: LOTS of animals for Asia. LOTS of animals for Africa. None for Australia unless you own the DLC. Some animals from South and North America, a few more if you include the DLC. And most importantly: I can't make a European section in my zoo because there are no European zoo animals, and that sucks.

1) Red deer (Cervus elaphus)
2) Fallow deer (Dama dama)
3) Wild boar (Sus scrofa scrofa)
4) Wisent (European wood bison) (Bison bonasus bonasus)
5) Red fox (Vulpes vulpes crucigera)
6) European badger (Meles meles)
7) Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus)
8) European lynx (Eurasian lynx) (Lynx lynx)
9) Alpine ibex (Capra ibex)
10) Chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra)
11) Alpine marmot (not sure if it's too small) (Marmota marmota)
12) European wildcat (Felis silvestris)
13) European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus)
14) European golden jackal (Canis aureus moreoticus)

I'd be very happy with a number of these in my zoo, but at the very least I'd like to have the Red deer.

I know this feeling. I did recently the European section of my zoo and I had to use other animals to pretend they are European species. Hopefully I will be able to replace them with the real species someday.

Lol, in the Netherlands we don't even HAVE european parts in our famous zoo's, I've never seen a zoo with anything other than Wolves from Europe, those parks are called different here, nature parks, those have all the animals that live in europe.

Not parts. But we do have more european animals in many of the Dutch Zoos. But usually thats restricted to several types of owls.

There's life beyond the Netherlands :) Other European countries do have European areas and animals other than wolves in their zoos: Madrid Zoo, Terra Natura (Spain), Paris Zoo, Helsinki Zoo, Prague Zoo, Ranua Zoo (Finland), Skansen Zoo (Stockholm), Lisboa Zoo, Barcelona Zoo, Rome Zoo, Riga Zoo, Tallin Zoo, Pairi Daiza (Belgium)...

It is true that otuside Europe they are not common, but in Europe they are not rare at all. Giant pandas are not that common in zoos all over the world. Proboscis monkeys either. The often requested platypus is not common either. Even Tasmanian devils are not that common outside Australia (maybe in Asia, I don't know).

Laughing at other people's comment about what they do or want to do in their game is not very polite.

I have like 20 only from Africa but also miss some from India and definitely from South America. I don’t care for North American and European animals since they are not so iconic for me. But I know a lot of people want them so I’m perfectly ok with that.
  • White rhino
  • Meerkat
  • Fennec fox
  • Red River hog
  • Crested Porcupine (can also be from Europe or Asia)
  • Scimitar oryx
  • Secretary bird
  • Addax
  • Gray crowned crane
  • Fossa
  • Black rhino
  • Cape penguin
  • Dromedary
  • Hamadryas baboon
  • African leopard
  • Shoebill
  • Serval
  • Caracal
  • Somali wild ass
  • Honey badger 🦡 we need badgers !!!! 🤨

I'd take 2 full African animal packs before any other DLC if I could. There's just so much left from this continent that's just way more appealing to me than anything from other continents.
  1. White or black rhino
  2. Meerkat
  3. African leopard
  4. Hamadryas baboon
  5. Cape penguin
  6. Crested porcupine
  7. Grey-crowned crane

  1. Serval
  2. Red river hog
  3. Fossa
  4. Secretary bird
  5. Fennec fox
  6. Dromedary
  7. Colobus monkey
After these, I'd probably want a North American pack next. And then back to Africa again, because it's just that rich in species.
  1. Aardwolf or striped hyena
  2. Helmeted guineafowl
  3. Indri
  4. Caracal
  5. Scimitar-horned oryx
  6. Gerenuk
  7. whichever rhino we didn't get the first time around
Next I'd loop back and do South America again, then Australia again, and then finally Europe. But I could probably crank out another African pack too, hm...

No love for Ratels?

Africa is definitely a big priority for me, and some of the animals I'd want to see overbalance any other continent, but I think overall the continent I want to see most of all is North America, with Africa being second. I have some really great ideas for camping type zoos, almost more like wildlife parks (in sandbox) and just feel like the North American continent could use more animals. I do feel there's some iconic missing animals that I'll start with off the top of the list and have the best chance of making a pack

1. Moose
2. Wolverine
3. Cougar (aka Mountain Lion/Puma)
4. California Sea Lion
5. American Beaver
6. American Alligator
7. American Black Bear (I know some will find it boring, but hey, it's my list, and I don't.)
8. Arctic Fox

I think those are the most likely animals to choose from for a pack, but I'd also like to see:

9. North American River Otter
10. Roseate Spoonbill (a wading bird could be done without flying mechanics)
11. Roadrunner (also, ground based and wouldn't have to have flying mechanics)
12. Coyote
13. Canadian Lynx
14. Rocky Mountain Goat
15. Big Horned Sheep
16. Alligator Snapping Turtle
17. North American Porcupine
18. Collard Peccary (though mostly South American the range does extend to the lower parts of NA)
19. Elk
20. White Tailed Deer
21. American Badger
22. Nine Banded Armadillo
23. Opossum
24. Raccoon
25. Red Fox

I really care about my NA SA and my India zoo above all else. I have trouble making a successful all Africa zoo, my Asia zoo is good as is my Australian zoo.
There are some European animals I like and would like a type of theme at some point but it’s not a high priority for me.
North America because of my experience in national parks
1. Moose. Living in Vermont I’ve enjoyed seeing moose. Brings me nostalgia from zoo tycoon as one of the first animals available and easy to have.
2. Musk ox. Can give some love to Arctic
3. Fox, Arctic, marble etc
4. Steller sea lions. I advocate for them over California’s as I work in the Kenai fjords where they live and their population is threatened.
5. Coastal mountain goat. Could use some cliff dwelling animals and some other antelope
6. Alligator. Complete the crocodillians
7. Cougar. Give us a NA feline
8. Peccary. Can work as both NA and SA and give us another swine type animal.
9. Sandhill crane. A big bird of NA that doesn’t need an aviary
10. Coyote. To complete all types of canines.
SA
1. Capybara. Why not
2. Andean bear. Bears will now be covered on all continents
3. Sloth of any kind. Idc personally, but could act as a good walk into exhibit animal similar to koala
4. Rhea. A big bird for SA
5. Manned wolf. Canine for SA
Maybe I’ll edit more for SA but that’s all on my mind
India
1. Indian leopard. Personal favorite of the leopard types. We currently don’t have any true leopards.
2. Guar. An ungulate of India
3. Markhor. We could use goats
4. Indian jackals. Currently no jackals, would help complete all canine types
5. Hoolock gibbons. When the brachiation is right
May update but this what I’m looking for outside of animals requiring big exhibits and aviary.

10 - 25 are the ones I prefer over your 8 favorites

I've already listed some animals I'd love to see for an Oceania pack in this thread here, but I'd also enjoy an African DLC or North American DLC, or even a European one (although admittedly I'm not as excited by the idea of the European DLC). I think my picks would be, assuming DLC packs of seven habitat species:

African DLC (in no particular order):
Meerkat:
very cute, a zoo staple, could be so much fun to watch and design habitats for, highly requested.
White rhinoceros: another zoo favourite that's been highly requested, but black rhinoceros would work too. Mostly I'd just love another rhinoceros option and I personally love the look of white rhinos.
Fossa: I'd like more small species for the game and I think they're a very neat, unique option.
Cape penguin: I think they've got a great look, another penguin for the game would be terrific, and I'd prefer this (or fairy penguin, from the Oceania pack) to another Antarctic species because I love that environmental diversity.
Crested porcupine: another species unlike pretty much anything else in the game right now. I personally feel it's a long shot because I don't know how well Frontier's shader could manage the spines and detail, but you never know.
Kudu/oryx/addax: I know this is probably contentious as there's already quite a few in the game and a lot of people prefer carnivores, but something like a Greater kudu, Scimitar-horned oryx, or addax would be nice in my opinion for rounding out safari vibes with a large antelope and would add some wow factor with those big horns (and another desert species, in the latter two cases).
Lemur: I can't really pick one I'd like most, so I sort of have three in mind I'd like--the indri, aye-aye, or sifaka. I think each brings something fun: the indri being the biggest lemur and pretty iconic; the sifaka has such an interesting kind of locomotion and is a desert-dwelling primate; and the aye-aye for how wonderfully peculiar it is and how different from the two lemurs already in the game.

As alternatives to the crested porcupine and greater kudu, I'd also be very happy with a brown hyena or striped hyena, and a baboon species or gelada respectively! Some people might prefer to switch the fossa for a ratel and I wouldn't be heartbroken about that, although I think I would prefer the fossa myself.
Edit: forgot to mention that the Southern ground hornbill would be very cool and I'd be happy for that to be substituted for the antelope or porcupine!

North American DLC (also in no particular order):
Moose:
they're such an iconic North American species and it'd be gorgeous to have some of these giants in the game.
American beaver: now that we have aquatic animals, this feels like an obvious choice. I think their habitats could be really interesting and unique.
Wolverine: it was a species I was surprised not to see in the tundra pack, and I think it'd be a great mustelid addition for the game--especially considering it's the world's largest.
American alligator: I know a lot of people have had enough of crocodiles and such, but these guys appeal to me a lot because their habitats are so different to those we already have. Their tolerance for cold could be super interesting (and useful!) mechanically and I'm curious to see what Frontier would do with this animal.
Nine-banded armadillo: a small North American/South American animal that I think would be charming and would fill that "little creature" niche that the game doesn't have totally covered yet (in my opinion).
Roadrunner: another really distinctive, interesting North American species that would be super fun to watch and build habitats for, and also I think the game could stand to have more (ground-dwelling) birds.
Mountain lion: I know many people are requesting the Canada lynx but the way I see it is that the mountain lion is a really recognisably North American carnivore, leaving a space for the Eurasian lynx in a European pack, since I think it would be a bit much to put two cats into one DLC for this one.

14) European golden jackal (Canis aureus moreoticus)

I'd be very happy with a number of these in my zoo, but at the very least I'd like to have the Red deer.
Marmot definitely isn't too small. Ringtails weigh average 2.2kg while marmots can reach 8kg in the autumn. They are chunky lads.

Another vote for European here but for foliage rather than animals (though I wouldn't object to many of the ones listed here, not forgetting the red squirrel) as I mainly build on the temperate map and I'm tired of nettles and bracken and brambles when I really want daisies, foxgloves, buttercups etc!

For me Europe for sure. I would love more animals from Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas but Europe is really the only one missing almost completely in the game. We only have 3 truly European animals: Grey seal, Grey wolf (timber wolf) and Reindeer. As many have pointed out many European zoos have a lot a European animals in them. Currently it's impossible to get even close to replicating this. I know European animals are not common is zoos outside of Europe but neither are North American or Australian outside of their respective regions and they are still in the game.

These are all the animals I could see in a European pack.

Ungulates:
Alpine ibex
Chamois
Red deer
Moose
Fallow deer
Roe deer
Przewalski's horse
Visent
Eurasian boar

Carnivora:
Eurasian lynx
Iberian lynx
European wildcat
European badger
Wolverine
Eurasian otter
Pine marten
Red fox
Arctic fox
Ringed seal
Mediterranean monk-seal
(Eurasian brown bear)

Rodents and Lagomorphs:
Alpine marmot
Eurasian beaver
European hare
European rabbit

Birds:
Western capercaillie
Great bustard
Eurasian spoonbill
Common crane
Mute swan
(All spend considerable time in the ground or in water like the Greater flamingo in game)

Exhibit:
Olm
European adder
Sheltopusik
Mediterranean emerald lizard
Mediterranean house gecko
Hermann's tortoise
Marginated tortoise
European pond turtle
European green toad

My 8 animal pack out of these would be:

Alpine ibex
Moose
Eurasian lynx
European badger
Alpine marmot
Western capercaillie
Eurasian otter

Sheltopusik
