Which faction do you support and why?

I'm leaning towards empire despite the slavery and requisite basking. That said I'm not really sure what the alliance is all about and I do like the master chief-ness of the dropship.

What are your thoughts?

Federation. As a chaotic evil punk rock Satanist trans-grue Dark Jedi lawyer I find their levels of rampant corruption and gross incompetence just about right for me.

Federation for now, but only because I started near their systems. Once I am fully ranked I will drop them like a hot potato and go Imperial. After that Alliance. Hopefully by then there might actually be a reason to be allied to the Alliance.

That said I want a little rock to call home. Somewhere to park the racing tuned hauler where I can rest assured I will remain in good standing despite the incoming 1.3 update. But where?

Too many options... Haha.

Alliance just because of the nobler cause and their past lore, but I am friendly to the Federation having gotten a start with them and having achieved rank in their military.

For now... Empire. 'Cause I like their ship aesthetics.

That said... The moment it becomes possible to buy and fly Thargoid ships, I'm defecting to that faction instantly.

Federation, because I'm always drawn to Sol in space games. Plus, I believe in many of the Federation's principles, even if the Fed gov't doesn't live by them. It really feels like America :D

Alliance all the way, at least until 1.3. Will take a good long look at the powers. Hoping for an Alliance one i can get behind, one with an Exploration bent.

Alliance, I like the lore and it reminds me of my privateer days in the Gemini sector! Out in the fringes of space, backwater planets and systems. Alioth, and the many independent systems feel like the union of borderworlds back in the glory days of wing commander 4! The price of freedom is eternal vigilance!

Independent. All the way. I don't know/understand Alliance very well, and I could resonate with some Federation ideals. Empire feels so retrograde, I don't even bother.

The bottom line is that in a galaxy where right and left have proven both to be highly inept and corrupt, Independent to be oneself is better. And I actively work with having my home system independent but democratic.

The Alliance always reminds me of the Union of Borderworlds if you played Wing Commander IV you should get an idea.
