Which Five animals you really don’t want in the game and why?

I know most people don’t like negative choises as the world after 2010 became fragile and took everything too serious, but I didn’t evolved with you, I’m sorry, so

This list is for fun

Which five animals would you rather not see and why?

Ok, I ignore the obvious ones like Asian Lions, Masai Giraffe and whales and dolphins because they don’t suit in zoos in my opinion.

1: small-clawed Otter (I'm angry on the fans for calling the best otter, the giant otter, creepy, boring ect ect, only because they want a little pony cute critter, I find cute otters to be cute, but not interesting, next.)

2: Nile Crocodile (Ugh, just a cheap copy of Saltwater Crocodiles, very interesting to see eating gnu and zebra's on television, but for this game, no please, much more interesting african creatures left to cover.)

3: American Black Bear (My worst nightmare, 10.000 times less interesting than the Spectacled Bear by far, and we already have the Formosan Black Bear, which I thought to be the same thing until I saw the neck...)

4: Red Deer (The most boring of deer in my opinion, I rather see EVERY other species of deer before this one.)

5: Leopard (I just think there are more interesting African animals out there to be covered, but my gut is telling me this big cat is taking a spot.)

5. Anything that does not exist in real life in present day is out of the question for me.

Not 5 animals specifically, just an entire group.
No need for explaining I guess.

1. Leopard of any kind
2. More crocodilians
3. Both african rhino species - I would only like to see one of the, both would be an overkill for me.
4. Extinc animals or fantasy animals.
5. Animals that are not not being able to survive in captivity.

I really agree with Dinosaurs and fantasy creatures, I LOVE fantasy creatures, moreso than animals, I mean I know about Redcaps, Karkadann, Ahuizotl, Nuckelavee, Buggane, Piasa and MANY MANY more nobody ever heard about, but I don't want them in this game. The most obvious would be bores like Mermaids, Yeti, Unicorn, and Sasquatch, I don't want them even more, they are boring and overused.
I want fantasy creatures in their own games.

Then we have Dinosaurs and extinct animals, I want them in Prehistoric Kingdom, not in Zoo games, I hated the dinosaur-digs expansion of Zoo-tycoon 2, so bad.

There are so much animals I would like to have in this game which are still walking over the earth. So I really don't want any kind of extinct animals and more worse fantasy animals. For dinosaurs Frontier made Jurassic world.
My top 5 of must haves are:

Meerkat
Big rhino species
Leopard species
Sea lion species
Sloth species

This isn't about things you want, it's about things you DON'T want.

Okay, thanks. I somehow overread the don't.

I really don't want:
1.Extinct species
2.Fantasy species
3.Subspecies which nearly look the same and have the same Habitat than an already Existing sub species (another brown bear, another lion species, another zebra, giraffe,...)
4. nile crocodile (it's a bit different to point 3, because it is living on another continent than the existing crocodile. But I don't want it either. I would rather like to have an American alligator so we have all different species of crocodylia)
5. Another small rhino (One or both big African rhinos would be fine for me)

To nr 1 and 2: There are so much animals still walking over the earth which are not in the game until now and there are other games for that (Jurassic world for dinosaurs)

1. Animals that live quite happily in the wild, aren't endangered and aren't common in zoos (i.e. city zoos - wild life parks are different IMHO)
2. Animals that are similar to and from the same continent & biome as ones already in the game.
3. Cute, popular varieties chosen over more endangered, less well-known ones. I've learnt so much about animals I wasn't familiar with or had never heard of since playing this game. Thanks, Frontier. Hate the paths; love, love, love the education.
4. Animals who don't do well in captivity or are still used as entertainment.
5. The baboons with the enormous pink backsides. No. Just no.

1. Fantasy creatures
2. Extinct creatures
3. Any pure pure clones taking up slots in paid dlc ( free dlc or small variety packs are fine with clones)
4. Idk
5. Idk

im pretty chill with stuff I want both african rhinos I would love cetaceans I’m cool with a lot of stuff cause it’s a game not real life and creativity and ambition and showing people the biodiversity on this planet, is better for me than pure realism.

1. Any more spider or Centipedes, except for the Black Widow spider. I know I can just overlook them, of course.
2. Elephant Seal. Sorry for those that want them in. I just don't know what it is about them. I like seal but I really don't like elephant seals for some reason.
3. Any more habitat tortoises. 2 large tortoises is enough really.
4. Any baboon aside from the Hamadryas baboon. I don't know why but they creep me out. Hamadryas do too but the mainly just look grumpy and I can deal with that.
5. Another tiger. I'm fine - down the road - with some reskin/clones of some animals - again down the road - another giraffe or lion is okay. one more. But the tigers already have 2 in there, that's quite enough.

There aren't really any animals I don't want in the game
I'm the same. But if I had to choose it'll be the following

1. Fantasy - I'm not into fantasy except like aliens and stuff and realistic cryptids (basically, any that have a chance to exist, like Yeti)
2. Extinct - I love extinct animals, but not for PZ
3. Animals that absolutely cannot live in captivity in any way (so, like oceanic sharks, for example)

If we ignore the obvious (fantasy, extinct, marine), then five animals I wouldn't want to include would be;

- Javan rhinoceros.
- African leopard (I'll take the Amur, Persian, or Arabian, but not the African).
- Any other wolf subspecies (I've had my fill of Canis lupus, thanks - I've pretty much had my fill of Canis at this point, bring in some different dogs).
- Nile crocodile (or really any other crocodile - I want the American alligator, or Chinese at a push, but after that we should be done with this group).
- Any other monitor lizard (I was afraid we would see the Perentie or Lace monitor in the Australia Pack and we didn't, but now I worry they'll slot in the savannah monitor in an Africa Pack).

That said, when I say I don't want these animals, what I tend to mean is that I think there are better choices. In a perfect world the game would have almost every animal I can think of, even down to the less exciting subspecies and subpopulations (I still want the Sumatran tiger, despite it being similar to the mainland tigers we already have).

  1. African leopard: I'd rather get the Amur leopard in a Eurasian Animal pack or even the Persian or Arabian leopards in a Middle Eastern pack of some sort. There are better options for felines when it comes to an Africa pack, such as the serval, caracal or sand cat. I would actually like to have a leopard, just not the African species in an African pack. I'd rather have one of the two desert dwellers or the Amur, because they're both more common in captivity and more unique in terms of habitat and theming.
  2. Ethiopian wolf: For similar reasons to not wanting an African leopard, there a better canine options in Africa, such as the fennec fox, bat-eared fox or 3 different species of jackal. Additionally, the Ethiopian wolf is not kept in captivity, although this is because of restrictions placed by the Ethiopian government, not necessarily because they are incapable or being reared captively.
  3. Red deer: I have seen some people claim this is "the flagship animal of Europe"....really? England, sure, because the English killed everything else over there so it's the only large animal they have left. But is the red deer the first animal I think of when I think of Europe? No. It's probably not even in my top 10. There are far more interesting hoofed animals we could get including the ever popular alpine ibex or a more specific subspecies, the chamois, tur, elk or fallow deer. And opening up to a Eurasia expansion rather than a strictly European expansion (which I think is the better option for a strictly animals only pack) would also give us the saiga or Przewalski's horse. I just think that the red deer is a rather boring animal. The issue I see coming up is people saying they want it, so we end up getting it, but no one ever really uses it, so in the end it will feel like a wasted spot.
  4. -------
  5. -------
I think those are really the only 3 animals I don't want to see. This is excluding fully marine animals, fantasy creatures, extinct animals and closely related species (tiger subspecies, giraffe subspecies etc.) I don't want any of those.

I don’t really mind any animal choices tbh. Of course some I’d like more then others but no modern animals I couldn’t live with. I’d decline prehistoric animals since this is a realistic zoo sim. I would prefer other more traditional animals but if frontier did a whale dolphin pack I’d probably buy it. I like the idea for some similar animals. I figure if frontier still continues to do one occasionally might as well opt for the ones you’d want the most. I like the idea of including both African rhinos as I feel both have a lot to offer to PZ. I’m also all for a sloth, spectacled, or even a American black bear as I feel this should have been the flagship species but I understand why frontier went Formosan instead.

Yup, I hate those fantasy animals, and dinosaurs.

1. Both african rhinos - sorry to tell, but i don't need a rhino with the same behaviors than the indian rhino.
2. another leopard species - we have the jaguar, the clouded and the snow. i think that's enough kittys with spots.
3. small claw otter - i have no need for a similar otter from the same biom.
4. another bear species - i think we have now enough bears
5. and of course fantasy animals - i love fantasy animals, but not in planet zoo! I don't want to put them in enclosures (the same thing with dinos)

I agree with you mostly

1. Canines, canines are cool but PZ is really pushing it, like the Dingo was the most useless addition for me, the Dhole looks nicer, but wolves and african wild dogs were the only canines I think we needed, all others are using up good spots of more unique animals, especially the Dingo should've been switched with a platypus or wallaby. No more canines! (I would prefer canidae like the red fox or fennec much much more!)
2. Another bear (except for the spectacled one),so no american black bear or european brown bear (they will be cheap reskins like the Tapir)
3. Nile crocodile (unnecessary reskin), generally not a big enthusiast of any more crocodilia or reptiles unless it's sea turtles in a marine pack
4. Another otter, people are pushing for the small clawed and north american river otter, i don't see why, one otter is enough and the north american river otter is like a 1:1 copy except for the white spots. I'd much much rather get a beaver!
5. African Leopard is being pushed a lot, it's not very unique besides the already existing jaguar imo, but I could live with it

I'll add that I am totally for getting both the southern white and black rhinos, because both are very iconic and distinct looking. The red deer is actually cool imo, so I'd be for it, and regarding dolphines and whales, which is a very controversial topic, I think we should remember that this is just a game, and people want to have fun. The marine pack was my favourite expansion in Zoo Tycoon 2 and Orcas are my favourite sea animals, so I definitely want to see them, and I'm for giving them big exhibit requirements like the polar bear has, to account for it.

1. Dinosaurs and Fantastic and Prehistoric Animals
2. Invertebrates or terrestrial insects except Praying Mantis and Locust and Butterflies
3. Domestic Animals such as House Pig and Cows and Hamesters and Guinea Pigs and Mice and Rats
4. Some Mammals like the Mole and Gelada and Vervet and Eurasian Wildcat
5. Similar animals like Sumatran Elephant or American Black Bear and
Sloth bear

I mostly don't have specific species so much as categories that I'd rather not have added:

1. Domestic animals: I know some people want to make little walkthrough petting zoos and that, and that's cute, but that's not what I'm here for.

2. More dogs: I enjoy what we've got so far but I am all good on dogs for now. I feel like a lot of major important bases have been covered there, and I'd like to see future spots taken by other species.

3. Crocodilians other than the alligator: I really love what we have so far, because they all feel very distinct to me, and I'd like the alligator to round it out (particularly if we get a bit more wetlands-y foliage + cold weather tolerance for them). But I don't want freshwater crocodiles or nile crocodiles or anything because they are functionally too similar to what we've got already for my taste.

4. Another bear: like the dogs, I feel good with what we've got and I'm not looking for anything more than what we have.

5. Grey kangaroo: I know that people want it but like... we have so many other, more threatened, more interesting macropods than what is honestly going to be pretty much a recolour of the red kangaroo. It just doesn't feel right to me to include an extremely common, not-at-all-at-risk species of kangaroo when we have so many others that would be more interesting to build habitats for and would potentially benefit more from global recognition. Especially since everyone gets annoyed at reskinned animals. (I feel this also--but less intensely--about the emu, because I get that it's an iconic Australian animal but it's just... fine, and I'd rather see its spot go to almost literally anything else we have in this country--or in New Zealand).
