Which Flight system is king????

I was using an old x45 but I think the pots are getting a bit worn now as I had to set large deadzones for the stick.

Have just ordered an x55 today. Thought about the 52 but new ones are barely any cheaper and I want all the extra switches the 55 offers.

TBH I would have got a CH setup if I could as they sound really good and no-nonsense and I owned one of their basic joysticks years ago and liked it a lot. Couldn't find a set for sale for reasonable money though; the x55 was only £10 more and didn't have to come from the US!

**UPDATE 2**

Scratch what I said earlier about the range of movement being different between the 2 sticks, seems a small piece of plastic had ridden up the shaft of the standard x52 and was blocking a lot of its movement. Back to being the same as the pro now :)

If a CH Products rig fits your budget it's unbeatable in terms of value.

You have the choice between the Combatstick (red thumb button) and the Fighterstick (thumb hat - i.e. four buttons), or you could even use any other manufacturer's stick because the throttle is a self-contained USB device (as are the pedals).

Notably, there is an analog thumb stick on the throttle which is a perfect match for lateral and vertical thrusters.

They don't have the flashy looks but I was surprised that when I pulled the throttle out of the box, my first thought was in fact "it looks gorgeous". The black plastic and simple forms just don't lend themselves to product photos. They look serious business on a desk, though. ;)

Only caveat: If you like a twist axis on the stick, no such luck here. Get pedals or stick with "yaw into roll".

Can't give you any comparatives as I only have the X-55, but it's a nice stick and I haven't been hit by the quality issues that others have reported. Very happy with it.
