Which headset?

A lot of people always talk up room scale with the Vive and while it was an advantage when it first came out I don't think it still holds true anymore. It is easier to setup than the rift but I'd say the rifts 3 sensor setup works just as well for room scale and if you don't have a large area it works pretty good with just the two sensors.

Errr, is that really true? I'm not convinced.

You're right. I tried it out just now to see if I could play offline. You can't launch games from Oculus Home, but it's still possible to play games if you launch them from your monitor screen.

Good thing you got that Facebook jab in, though, since that's super relevant to this discussion!

Thanks. It's important to remind people that the company is owned by someone who described his own customers in terms that I'm not allowed to repeat on this forum which doesn't allow swearing. It's important to remind his customers of his low opinion of them.

I've watched to much Black Mirror to install a Zuckerberg camera in my house lol

I would go with the Pimax 5k or 8k .. I had a demo of it last night in San Francisco -- the 200degree FOV alone is a game changer ..

Don`t rush, Pimax 8k, potentially, make all other VR headset obsolete. It is only 3-4 month away to be know for sure how great (or horrible) it will be.

As mostly a flight and race sim fan, if you had told me 18 months ago that I would be using some stupid hand controllers instead of my trusty WSAD and mouse, I'd have called you crazy. Oculus Touch changed that in the blink of an eye. I play with Touch just as much as with my hotas and wheel. Point is when asking "Which Headset?" don't dismiss the included controllers, how they are used and the available software that takes full advantage of them. Once one experiences Touch in games like The Climb and Lone Echo they realize just how much more immersive "hands in game" is in VR

Since "Which?" depends on "When", I'll just say that if my CV1 died this very day I would order another immediately. In a heartbeat!

I don't see it being horrible. it certainly won't be worse than what some already tried & reviewed and I didn't see anybody complain too much so far.

I will look into VR a bit more when they shrink. far to big and clunky for my taste at the moment.
though I can see a future were they will be not much bigger than glasses/shades. I will wait till then :)

LOL , Let's go even further wait until you connect the device with the "matrix" directly to the keg core..
