Do IF fans here have a preference for a particular development engine? Which one and why?

I don't think you can use text commands to talk or interact with NPCs. You'll probably have a menu system with predefined text. And BTW you linked to mobile wikipedia.

What would be more interesting what "emergent narrative" engine or "procedural story" engine they use, but I'm sure it's custom build But I'd love to get info about that.
