Which is better for an Asp? 5A Shield Generator or 6E?

Trying to understand the Shield Generator business. Trying to set up the Asp as a battle pig for combat. Which is better for Shield Generator - 5 series or 6 series? I can't afford 6A, so it has to be 5A or 6E, 6D, 6C or 6B.

When comparing an A to an E class it's a toss up otherwise it's always going to be the larger class. If I remember right the C class are worse than the D's unless they fixed that. But a 6D will be better than the 5A hands down. This seems to be that case for all modules except the interdictor the range increase in the A class is worth more imho.

edit all B class stuff usually isn't worth it. Just save for the A in that case with the exception being shields.

According to Ed's shipyard:

5A - 20T mass, optimal hull mass 405T, strength 135.53 - 5,103,953 CR

6B - 64T mass, optimal hull mass 540T, strength 141.21 - 5,393,177 CR
6C - 40T mass, optimal hull mass 540T, strength 132.97 - 1,797,726 CR
6D - 16T mass, optimal hull mass 540T, strength 124.74 - 599,242 CR

6C seems like a good one?

Take your ship's actual mass and make sure that the shield generator's optimal mass is over that amount. That way the shields won't buckle after the first 2-3 hits. In battle configs, I find the Slot 6 shields work wayyy better over Slot 5 shields. I assume that it's due to the mass factor.

Didn't that table turn out to be wrong?

I'd post a link im currently using( tested the values, i always get the same) but since i just made my forum account a few days ago i wont be able to

This is probably going to sound really dumb... but how can you get the outfitters to show shields of a class higher than 5 if you're in an Asp?

Because Asp has Size 6 internal slot.

Nah I meant how do you get it to display in the store... maybe it's as Munsterbuster says; I simply haven't ever found any! Thanks both for your answers :)
