Ships Which is the best combat ship for pve?

Hello Community,

I am back from the underground and havent almost played since horizon came out. So I am a "little" bit outdated right now and I am looking for a new ship for combat pve grinding (combat zones pirat killing missions etc)
Right now I am trying to improve my rank to get a Corvette but until then I am looking for another alternative.
This is my Current Ship and this are my Stats and my Ranks right now.
I also have no experience with the new fractions.
Can somebody help me out and update me a little. My question so far is is there a, and which, ship more suitable for pve combat than the one that I have right now?

Greetings

In my opinion if you only PvE (in mobius etc, not open) the best ship is a Federal Corvette with 2 efficient thermal vent beams, 7c fast charge bi-weaves with 7 boosters and a heat sink, two beam turrets (with regen/concordant), a FSD booster, a c6 hangar, a corrosive multicannon turret and two c1 feedback rails. Something like this https://s.orbis.zone/2s06
Fill up the rest however you like, for PvE it doesn't matter. There is no more efficient package for CZ or HazRes carnage.

For me it's the Vulture, but given that you have an Anaconda and aspire to having a Corvette it would possibly be an awful ship for you.

Hi guys thanks for your reply.
I think I should get a better definition of "best". What i mean is sth more like most efficent in terms of holding out damage and so. For exambel there are no use to me to stay in a combat zone with 5 rail guns where i have to fly back every 5 minutes because of the low ammo in the case where the railgun is the highest possible equipable weapon. Or that it can not hold out 5 hits from enemy ships due to low shield or crappy maneuverability.

This is what I am looking out right now.

Good guid

What engineers do you have unlocked?

100% support this post.

I'm fairly new to the game and used the guide to build myself a couple of different combat ships to try out and it didn't let me down.
(In fact, I have it open right now in another window while flying to all the engineers to pin blue prints so that I pin the right ones for things I haven't used yet...I just learned I can pin one blueprint on EACH engineer....)

For PvE conflict zones and bounty farming, I slapped an 8C biweave on a cutter, filled the utilities with shield boosters, then put G5 long-range pulse lasers on all the hardpoints but the huge, which is an efficient regen beam. Dirty drive that sucker, turn FA off, and just drift-turn your way around the zone with your turrets set to fire at will. You basically never need to reload and can stay in the zone all day.

A T10 works for this too (it actually has better hardpoint placement for a turretboat) but it's slower and the shields are weaker.

That said, my current favourite PvE combat ship is a vulture with two overcharged screening shell frags strapped to it. Maybe because it's my newest ship. It might not be the most effective ship in my fleet but damn if it isn't fun to fly, and in a videogame that's got to count for something. :D

I mostly do pirate massacre missions, here are the ships I have used:

- Krait Mk2 (Hungry Manta): This thing is a beast. It has GREAT power, you can slap any weapon combo on here, no problem. I have a fighter bay, two pulse turrets on top, large multicannons on top, two medium frag cannons below. I like to simplify, so all utilities are shield boosters. This thing chews through enemies like you wouldn't believe. I've put 500+ kills on this thing, probably a lot more. The Krait Phantom is a good ship too, more maneuverable, but no fighter bay. Note the Mk2's fighter bay will half your combat rank progress if you have an NPC fighter pilot. :(

- Vulture (Carrion Roc): I fly quite dangerously, and the Vulture is the only ship I have never lost. It has fantastic hull hardness and its shield are optional for its size with great capacity. Has power issues, but you can engineer it... or slap two large cannons on it for some skill hunting. ;)

- Mamba (Vermilion Huntress): great POV, all hardpoints on top, which is ideal for a combat ship. Just did the dirty drive engineering with drag, quite good handling. Has heat issues out of the box, but I've got mine kitted with efficient multicannons, so yay.

- FAS (Fullmetal Monitor): Just fun, it's pretty maneuverable, and that cockpit feels lethal. Pretty hard hull, also fun with all cannons for that hardcore feel.

- Cobra Mk3 (Boomerang Star): two small beams to kill their shields, two medium multicannons to kill them. Great fun. I hope they come out with a Cobra variant with a centered cockpit, that's the only thing the Mk3 lacks. Be careful when hitting above your weight class in this thing though. Cheap rebuy... ;). My first pirate Hunter.

- Alliance Crusader (Hungry Pangolin): my second pirate hunter. Had the fighter bay, and you can't go wrong with lots of guns. Felt slow though. Put hundreds of kills on it.

Which is the best combat ship for pve?

Nobody can answer that question for you.
A huge part of what is the best ship is the one that is piloting it.
And another huge part is how you outfit your ship, or how you engineer it.

You will get all kinds of wildly diverse suggestions. Most of which you can easily come up with yourself.

I could give you a top 5 of my favourites, but that doesn't have to mean anything for you.

For PvE, for me it’s gotta be the clipper, 2 beams overcharged with thermo vents, 2 multicanons overcharged with corrosive shells, 7A prismatic shield with shield boosters and your good to go, handles so well for a large class ship, I find it awesome to fly

Go chieftain. Fun to fly, but not a bloated ‘i win’ button like the Big 4. Tanky, shooty, but still need some skill to not eat rebuys.
