which navy has the best ships

General rule: empire = speed & agility, Federation = tank.

(Alliance = camp fire sing alongs & quorn burgers)
I knew there was a reason I hated the Alliance.

Note on Empire: The Courier has some really good shields for it's size. I don't know if that carries over for top rated shields for the Clipper and Cutter.

For the Cutter, definitely. It's the only ship aside from the Type 9 that has a Class 8 Shield Generator. The Clipper, I'm not so sure of.

mmm, haven't the corvette more speed and agility than the cutter ?
isn't more a battle ship than the multipurpose ship as the corvette?

For trading mining - Empire

For exploration (neither, but Empire has an edge)

For combat - Courier is awesome

FAS >> Clipper due to hardpoint placement and lateral thrusters

Gunship is comparable to the Python in all categories except it has weaker shields.

The Cutter and Corvette are their own beasts. Corvette DPS is misleading due to reliability of PA shots.

IMO: Damage goes Anaconda > Cutter > Corvette unless using all thermic weapons where the PD edges the Corvette ahead of the Cutter
Defense goes Cutter > Corvette > Anaconda without question
Handling is tough because I value top speed vs NPCs and the Cutter's drift lends itself to FAoff - This is more personal flying style, but the Anaconda stacks up really well for less cost and no rank restrictions.

I personally love all the faction ships and don't think you can go wrong - Empire is better for more diverse activities as Feds are cbat focused.

It does for the Cutter, but not for the Clipper.

The Clipper's speed compensates for it's weak base shields.

The Cutter has the strongest shields of any ship currently available.

Dropship, because it's an awesome baby Python....

Courier and Cutter have good shields. Clipper shields are about the same as the shields on the Equivalent federal ship That is to say, they're quite bad.

trading and small ship combat: empire

large ship combat: federal

- now, if i tell you that i have ranks in both navies to fly every ship, and my fleet has no federal ship in it, you know my kind of playstyle --- which is yours?

(i'm allied with the alliance, even if i don't sing...)

Im currently working for the Empire while flying in the Corvette, which will have prismatic sheilds soon...ohh the irony.
Also ya Feds have the best combat ships while the empire has 2 very good multirole ships, with the courier being one of the best small combat ships.

If you wat to get technical the Fed's shipyard made the Vulture and the Eagle too. ;)

That begs the question, when will Gutamay make a couple non-faction locked model's? It'd only be fair. ;)
