Which nebula is this?

I know it is hard to see, but I'm curious as to which nebula is the little purplish one near the center of the picture. It looks like a promising spot for an expedition!

I believe that's the Witch Head Nebula. The big red blob is Bernard's Loop from the side, which is the site of about 9 nebulae all within arm's reach of Sol. So a good sunday afternoon expedition. I'm happy to go with :)

Right now I'm heading out to J Puppis and then a round about way back to civilization. I could stand to get some new songs for my entertainment unit as they don't stream music out this far! =D lol That and maybe a kitty to co-pilot for me. It will probably be my next trip out. What I'm doing now is enough for my first expedition.

I really need to get something with more distance in the FSD. I missed my original destination because I couldn't reach it.

I think Witch Head nebula is quite a bit further away from the Loop than that. There's another nebula that looks very similar to Witch Head positioned much closer to the Loop: Running Man. Might be that. Or the angle of the picture is just fooling me and it is Witch Head. It's not like those two nebula look distinctively different in-game.

Easy way to find out: bring up galaxy map, find a nearby nebula, plot a course for a system that lies in the direction of said nebula. Point your nose at the system and, if you see it marked in front of the nebula, you'll know it's the one, if not, rinse and repeat until you get a hit :)
