Which Pelican?

I wanted to do similar topic to Chameleons. Generally people agree that we need a pelican, but if you get to choose, which species would you go for?

Brown pelican for yours truly, America needs a bird and if we don’t get one I might cry 😢 lol

Great white from an interspecies bonus though.

Brown pelican for the looks and for América Rep and because is my prefered choice.
Great White or Dalamatian for popularity, classic look and wide distribution.

Great white pelican. It has the more versatile distribution covering Africa, Asia and Europe and its shape and colours are the ones that I imagine when thinking of pelicans.

Great White Pelican: impressive in size, wide range, found in zoos.
Second choices would be the American White since its found in NA, Dalmatian or Peruvian since they're pretty.

I'm fine with any. I'd think the next three are most likely/reasonable:
  • Great white pelican is the obvious choice. It's common in zoos, has a large distribution and is commonly recognisable.
  • Dalmatian pelican is the largest species, making it slightly more appealing in-game and perhaps easier for the developers. Also very common in Europe, where a large part of the player base is from.
  • Brown pelican is interesting for its different colouration and representation of South America/Caribbean, relatively underrepresented regions.

For the longest I said Australian Pelican, but we have quite a few habitat birds from Oceania, relatively speaking to the rest of the world. Great White Pelican or American Pelican it is.

Great white is definitely the most versatile and would be best for the game overall.

On the other hand for my main zoo - and hopefully the first zoo I finish in almost five years of playing the game - it would have to be the Australian pelican.

Australian is the one I'm used to, the other white ones just look weird to me (I guess they're just not wearing their glasses).

Brown & Peruvian look alright too. Objectively, the most common are Great White & Dalmatian, of the two I'd pick Dalmatian I think.

The great white sounds like the best option, and the brown is another good one to give North America its first bird. I'd rather people get the pelican they want with good interspecies options and get different birds, like the turkey and wood duck, for North America, but I'd switch the great white pelican for the brown if that's what it takes to get one. For South America and the Caribbean, I'd prefer the rhea, pink trio, white-faced whistling duck, and maybe a curassow. It could be fun to mix a pelican with flamingos and some mammals in an African section. Maybe they'll add the ducks and crowned cranes and we can have a bunch of African birds hanging out together. That would be nice.
