Which Planet Zoo Animals Are Uncommon In Zoos?

Wow, didn't expect that so many "Common" Zoo Animals are entirely missing in Australia.

Is domesticated one considered subspecies or separate species?
According to Wikipedia they are separate Species.
Domesticated Buffalo (which we should've gotten) = Bubalus bubalis
Wild Buffalo = Bubalus arnee

I suppose there could be a question of whether it should be harder to get those rarer animals, like the proboscis monkeys, to thrive and breed in the game, though.
I think for the Animals with really specific dietary Requirements like the Proboscis Monkey, the Food Costs should be extremely high outside of the Natural Range

formosan black bear? the only stuff i could find about them in zoos is planet zoo.
At least the Zoo in Taipei in Taiwan keeps them

Also added NZ species -- decided to exclude absent animals, due to the limited scope of NZ zoos when it comes to exotics.
List of banned Species 😉

I'm back with a new account, and I'd like to add that the Bare-Nosed/Common Wombat is only found in around 3 US zoos, though it's far more common outside of the US.
They still qualify as uncommon in Europe given there's only 8 zoos there that keep them according to Zootierliste. Meanwhile, they're the only animal in the pack that is common in Australian zoos - the red fox is rare (3+ zoos), while the fruit bat, raccoon and skunk are absent.

Goliath Frog – all specimens wild-caught; never bred in captivity. Possibly one current holder, Kawa zoo in Japan. Past holdings include Berlin (1997-2000), Plzen (2001-2005), Bronx (1983- ).

Gharial – holdings have increased in recent years but remains rare. America 8, Europe 12.

Brazilian Wandering Spider – rare in zoo collections, and more commonly held behind the scenes then on display. Most reported specimens appear to be vagrants found in shipments from South America. Available for sale in the pet trade, but there appears to be little demand by zoos.

Wombat – Rare in zoos outside its native range. 8 holdings in Europe. Only 3 holdings in North America, all non-breeding ambassador animals.

Dall Sheep – Rare even in zoos even within its native range. Eight holders in North America, and only 4 in Europe.

Koala – only 9 US holders. More common but still rare in Europe (15).

Giant Tiger Land Snail – Illegal to import in the US.

Spectacled Caiman – surprisingly few holders in the US, 10 holdings listed on Zoochat. Very common in Europe.

Lesser Antillean Iguana – Found in only one US zoo AFAIK; relatively more common in Europe with 14 holders.

Black Wildebeest – only 5 holders in NA. Common in Europe (29).

I'm always shocked at how rare dholes are in captivity. The first (and only time) I've encountered them was in a small free zoo. It was quite bizarre to see such a rare animal alongside llamas, peafowl, and domestic goats.

Yeah, it’s wild to think that this squalid roadside zoo in my state had Dall sheep given their general rarity. And my “home” zoo (1.5 hours away) is one of the few that has koalas amongst its otherwise non-notable collection rarity-wise.
