Which side to choose in combat zones

So I'm at one of Hudsons Expansion systems trying to do my little bit. The power play contact is saying to go to a combat zone and fight on Hudsons side. But how do I determine which faction I should join?

There will be two factions listed in the Choose Faction part of your right hand menu. Let's say one is called Bob and one is called Jim.

Make a note of the names, then open your System Map.

The information in the left hand pane will tell you the political allegiance of each faction within the state. Therefore, if Bob's allegiance is Federation and Jim's allegiance is Independent - fight for Bob!

If it's a Military Strike Zone and you are Pledged to Hudson the sides will already be chosen for you. Just jump in and you'll see Red and Green blips right away.

This only applies Conflict Zones.
