Engineers Which systems and States tend to offer mining missions for metallic?

Hi all, i know this has been asked before, ugh im just struggling to find a thread where i saw the answer for this

Was reading up and someone said basically to make money mining do pristine metallic rings and nothing else, which im cool with and doing right now.

Murphy's law, recently every system has bloody Bromellite or other ice related missions, I need to find a system soon to unload some painite and etc but i've been trying for half an hour and found squat Agh,

Is it Refinery systems that give mining jobs?

Does the economic state make a big difference?

thanks for your time all

For Painite you really want a "Metallic" ring or asteroid belt. K class stars often seem to have suitable metallic ringed planets for some reason. You'll need to detail scan the planet to get an accurate view on composition. Make sure you're in the right ring, they often have two sections. The A ring is closest to the planet and you can see the diference in the ring colours before you drop.

Industrial ecomomies give good (commodity market) prices for metals (don't know much about ice mining). High Tech gives reasonable proces too.

Boom state (possibly Expansion too) influences the amount of missions offered.

more so, if in boom. tourism is the thrid economy here who gives very good prices for p&p&p during boom times. generally industrial pays best for any mining ore during boom, high tech pays best for p&p&p including platinum, while tourism pays best for painite, gold and silver during boom - check out your pristine rings what they give you at average, and decide about where to sell later. i actally always ahve a freighter with good jumprange along my mining corvette, so i can go easily to the next best price market, even if it is 50 ly away.

and as above, i think osmium and samarium are the only metals from pristine metallic rings, which you can find msisions for. mainly in high tech/industrial/military and extraction economies during boom. but with the selling price of painite and platinum during boom times, you don't need any missions to make mining profitable these days.

Thanks to the community for helping out, appreciate it.

Bumbling around in the hi tech systems for a while i only found ice related missions and no metallic. Pain in the butt. I ended up just lobbing the stuff on the commodities market.

I suspect as mentioned this a symptom of the recent patches, No painite, palladiium missions and seems like the Samarium and Osmium ones are rare now. Doesn't make much sense to me. should probably be reported as a bug right?

Ahhh.... do you think? Osmium was like 7k per ton and palladium was like 12, the only one that was any good was painite at 40k per tonne, I got extremely lucky
and found 35 tonnes of the stuff which netted me 2.5mill, but that took 2 hours to do?

Unless the commodities market can go higher than that, seems a lot of work for little pay

After you're set up with limpets, there's little point mining for anything less than gold unless it's for missions.

When i was doing a lot of mining with a Cobra, Type 6 and then AspX, i went with a full hold of limpets and prospected for the best rocks (make sure to use an A rated prospector control), at first only mining painite and platinum. If i start running low on limpets and had a lot of cargo space, then i'd be less picky. Sometimes i'd mine some osmium and silver just in case there was a mission for it when i came back. Ice mining was a total waste of time.

My home station at the time was Secchi Orbital in Cai Syraze, it was industrial/extraction and had stable demand for metals, as well as mining missions. There is a pristine metalic ring nearby in HIP 57352.

I did report it and was told it's intended.

painite can go up to 82K/t, platinum up to 26K/T, and palladium up to 13k/t ...

Still, there were missions which were paying more for platinum and palladium than just the best market price... and I don't think they were OP in any way. I'd take more missions like those any day over target-stack missions.
