Which Thrusters to buy? (video)

Please see this video; http://youtu.be/8QQ0JdPjOvA
I'm unsure what thrusters to buy, I've no idea about the class / rating / mass and wanted to ask please what you would recommend and explain why?

Same goes for increasing my jump distance capability - what do I need to look for?

Thanks.

For jump range capability, bigger and higher-graded frameshift drives are of course the most important factor. Your ship's hull mass also comes into play here. The lighter your ship is, the farther you can jump.
Example 1: 355.6-ton Cobra, A-grade FSD (frameshift drive), 16.22ly range - http://edshipyard.com/#/L=302,5Rg5Rg7sh7sh01Q3wo,336a6a6Q5050506k,7gy9ta7RK7dq7dq7dq
Example 2: 201.5-ton stripped-down Cobra, A-grade FSD, 24.9ly range - http://edshipyard.com/#/L=302,,2-3m6u6Q5K2C5K22,

As a rule, D-grade modules are the lightest, while B-grade modules are the heaviest. Even with its weight, there is no situation in which a B-grade FSD would not give you more range than lower-grade FSDs.

Regarding thrusters, higher grade modules of the same size class will give your ship slightly better maneuverability than lower-grade ones. There's not much more to it - higher grade is always better so long as your power supply can handle it, unless you're going for maximum jump range in which case you want something light.

Not so much. You're trying to balance a number of different factors - power usage A-grade uses more than E-grade, weight D-grade is lightest, E.C & A are mid point, B is heaviest, and general capabilities E worst, A best.

You need to decide which pieces of equipment are most important for your mission: combat - power, distribution, thrusters, shields, sensors (maybe on that last one); exploration - Jump range.

If you need to increase jump range, then getting a better FSD is important, B is better than D. However you also want to reduce weight that is not directly benefiting your jump range, so for all other equipment you would choose a D grade module as they are the lightest and thus put less load on the FSD.

Thanks for that. So the D grade FSD is better than a B grade.
No. Higher grade (A is highest, E is lowest) is always a more powerful module. While the D-grade FSD is usually something like half the weight of the B-grade FSD, that weight is not nearly enough to make up for how much more powerful the B-grade FSD is in comparison. Depending on the ship you're in and how heavy it is, each grade adds another 2-4ly of jump range, possibly more in some edge cases with the Adder, the Asp or the Anaconda.
