Which tutorial covers takeoff and landing?

Hidy ho all,

I was playing the tutorials a bit, to get back into the swing of this game. I got up to the one where your pitted against another sidewinder, with a skilled pilot. And told to kill it. Then I was done for the night.

I know I still have a few others to go, but i remember one tutorial used to cover docking and undocking, and another used to cover jumping between systems. Do any of the tutorials cover these two crucial topics?

I think it is in the options to allow you to go through pre-flight checks, or is that not what you mean?

Otherwise, I'd revert to that famous video-streaming service, as there's no shortage of ED videos out there on all aspects (these are all from the Elite Dangerous channel):

ha! good one jex. But I figure its got to be a bit more complicated then that.

Fidden, do you happen to know where in the options?

There are three training missions you can try. One for launching, one for docking and one where you launch, jump to another system and then dock. I don't remember the exact names but I'm pretty sure the last one is Travel.

Thanks for the reply furrycat, I didn't see those missions listed.

I only saw the last 2, which had to do with wolfpack tactics, and objective based killing.

To learn how to dock, select 'docking' in the mission menu. 'Launch' teaches you, as you may have guessed, how to launch. 'Travel' combines both + jumping and Supercruise. They are at the bottom of the list, so you need to scroll down.

I still can't beat the waves training mission, and I've been in this since beta! I can get to the Anaconda battle with the Asp, saving all my rockets, and I've had him down to 6% hull once, but can't beat it. I'm sure this mission used to be in a Cobra Mk 3, not an Asp...

I forgot to fire up Elite Dangerous last night, but I just fired it up now to start the take off and landing tutorial. And I'm not seeing that tutorial here. I've attached what I do see:



As you can see, there is no tutorial labeled for takeoff and landing.

Is it covered in supply strike or incursion?

I tried scolling down. But after going down past incursion using the down button, it just goes to the main menu button. Also, the scroll wheel also brings me to the main menu button.

is there another way to scroll in that list?

Ah, I think I see what the problem is. That menu looks like it's from the demo "Single Player Combat Training". Try logging into the game. From the first menu, you should see "Training" as the first item. Click on that, then "Training Missions". That should give you two docking training and a travel training.

Oh, yea I was in the demo. Didn't realize they actually put the training missions in the game now. Thanks for that!
