I certainly don't have the playtime of some of you veterans -- only about 1000 hours. Most of that was just me trying to figure it out and I'm a slow learner. One thing that has stuck out to me that has become more apparent in Odyssey is how doing illegal missions works.
Let me walk you through an example. Maybe it's working as intended. Maybe I did something wrong.
1. I accept a quest to kill a guy in the same system I'm in. It's an illegal mission, obviously.
2. I go to the settlement, find the target, eliminate them. No problem. No witnesses. No fight. In and out. Clean.
3. I go back to the mission giver's location.. except now, I'm wanted. There are no mission givers anywhere.
4. (This is where I may have messed up). Seemingly out of options, I turn myself in, get ported 10k LYs from my location. But my ship is still at my previous location.
5. I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, with a ship on the other side of the sector, and Apex can't be bothered to fly me that far.
What's the right way to complete this type of mission without this kind of behavior?
