Whine, whine, whine. If you are going to whine and crap about ED why not just post them here to get them all in one place?
Elite was never an easy game to play. That is why when you succeeded at it you felt that you actually accomplished something. Now we've gone to MMOG and how it all has to be balanced which I am sure that FD will figure out.
But they did not detract from the original design and kept it hard to play even adding more difficulties such as cargo weight versus jump range, advantages you can do with Boost and Flight Assist off, commodities price changes with who is trading what, etc. The lists goes on.
I think this is pretty cool additions which if ever I get to Elite status will make it more worthwhile...although I'm still awaiting the Commander status page. Haven't found that one yet.
Forget what you know about MMOG. This is a whole new ball game which old players who played all the games before can understand the changes. Even then some won't like them but life moves on. Noobs playing the recent MMOG games will also wonder what is going on.
There are so many ways you can lose without ever getting into a battle. That is cool as FD has once again gone past a game and hits us emotionally in the virtual world we play in. Well at least me.
This game is not for the timid and that's the way I like it. Just one opinion. Welcome to the new "Frontier" of gaming. Many want more in their online gaming experience and ED might be what you are looking for. Just take it in and see how it fits.
Of course FD was never great at a manual with all the specifics of all there is to know in the game. It seems that is still true today. That's where 120,000 players who logged in on Tuesday will help with many of them creating their own websites and You Tube videos to support the game. Computer info has changed a lot since 1984...
