There is so much whining going on, I just don't understand it, whining about it being too hard, too easy, not enough information, not enough space, not enough players, too much space, etc.

This is a test bed for the game, there are about a million things that FD still have to tune, change and add.

If you don't like the game and don't want to play then sod off and don't play, please don't feel obliged to tell us you won't play. I for one don't care.

If you don't like something, SUGGEST a change, that's why we are here. Don't just slag off what we have ATM.

Give this beta a chance before condemning it, we've only had it for, what, 5 days! AND it's already significantly better than 5 days ago.

I would like to say to the Dev team, you are all doing a fantastic job and keep up the good work......... Thank you.

Seems to me the devs are working hard to fix any issues/bugs we find.

Well said. Edit Well said OP. A post along the lines - 'I'd like to see this' or 'is this right?' is fine and constructive at least it lets us know where the friction is. But saying things MUST change or demanding their money back is basically rude. These are the same people that enjoy having a go a waiters/waitresses because it makes them sound important. I little humility goes a long way and people here are incredibly helpful if you don't come across like an idiot.

My requests are quite simple, open world with no forced PVP. Two servers - two options.

This should be the standard for any gaming trying to promote itself as anything other than a PVP game. Without that option this is on par with Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty.

Nothing to see here, I am out there warning the community that this game is not an open world exploration game, it is not a space sim, it is a PVP gankfest. So people don't waste their money on this trite unless they are specifically looking for that krap.

It's generally nicer if everyone is reasonable though. People are more inclined to listen, reason and debate.

And I've been through a lot of square boxes in jumping space stations over the past 8 months, but no hoops. Well... OK... there's the hoop things with Aulin... but that's the only set of hoops involved.

Sorry but beta stages are made to promote whining. [redacted] the reason why games get released and flop because the devs listened to people l[redacted] instead of the people trying to get things fixed and give developers their opinions on aspects of the game. [redacted]

What I'm finding tiresome is that some good points are being made, but they're wrapped up in some entitlement, whining and hubris, they're being instantly (and understandably) dismissed. It does mean that there are useful debates that aren't really taking place because of the entrenched views and negative attitudes on both sides of the particular fence.

I thought the purpose of an open beta was so that people can play it then tell the developers what does and doesn't work, what needs fixing, and what needs tweaking or tuning. It's not whining... Well, at least not all of the time.

At the end of the day we've paid for the privilege to be beta testers, so we should be allowed to say what does and doesn't function. yes some people do get a bit whiney, but most of us are trying to offer constructive comments about things we find that may need a bit of work.

The 'whining' that is truly a waste of time is people wanting to change design decisions clearly stated in the DDA. The Devs aren't going to change any of that stuff lightly, and certainly not just because people have a preconceived notion about what the game should be like. Especially annoying are the guys who want to change this into another EvE.

I agree. I do think that there should be an online only option however where there is no integration between multiplayer and solo play alongside the integrated option. Now that would be awesome. It may be like EvE because EvE is online but I guess EvE invented the internet and MMOs so lets not "copy" eve.

Criticism and feedback is good.

What's not so good is people ignoring design decisions and explanations from devs and keeping insisting on some feature or removal of it based on very narrow POV.

People moaning about the beta not being complete enough to pretend its a full game is whats really getting on my nerves.

It just seems to have started at this stage. Did that happen last stage? I dont recall.

And as a by product of that its either moaning about it being a beta or people moaning about people moaning about it being a beta. So its effectively just a whole lot of moaning from all angles.

Opinions and suggestions should be welcomed and listened to and debated.

Even if it has been debated in DDF. So it cannot be changed does not mean people cannot give their opinion.

It is a forum after all, some are just too sensitive.
