Who else is struggling?

This isn't a criticism post by any means but is anyone else struggling to stay on the game for a length of time or actually be creative?
I feel like in PC1, I was on fire with my creations and I built lots of parks and also had my own passion project that I took time with over the entire cycle of PC1.

However this game, I'm struggling. Initially I got a bit of my park done but I've went on it multiple times in the last month or so and I've done almost nothing, I just can't find whatever it was that was there on the first game. It could be me, but I think its a problem routed more into the game itself.

Anyone else?

The same for me. It is because the game fights you at every turn. Nothing is streamlined and I just get angry when trying to use the UI.

I picked up Planet Zoo again after a few years hiatus, and boy is that a night and day different experience. What the h*ll happened with the PC2 development? It is using the same engine as Planet Zoo.

It's mainly when I encounter a glitch with the game or forget how awful the water rides are and go to use them where I lose interest.

The UI is still far worse than PC1 / PZ and we still don't have enough content to make decent dark rides / dark ride sections which is what I enjoy most.

i mean in planco 1 i was able to put this together for hours and hours on end nonstop:
like the park ran literally at 10 fps and i didnt care at all because i was just soooooo inspired to build literally anything.
with planet coaster 2 we do have some great tools like scaling or themeing the coaster cars. but somehow it just doesnt have that magic from the first game. apart from all the issues i honestly cant realy put my finger on it.
it took me 1.1k hours to put wonderverse (my planco 2 park project) together which probably isnt even 1/4 of my planco 1 park, and that one took me maybe 600-700 hours?
i loved watching my planco 1 park for hours. loved watching everything working and running. in planco 2 it sometimes feels like wherever i look or whatever i do i run into tedious game mechanics, bugs or quality issues (like guest seating positions beeing wrong).

ive also lately felt kinda unmotivated to continue my project. i feel like this is the time where id most enjoy watching my park run because im still getting somehow stable fps. however the game is so bugged it not enjoyable. and when the game does finally become kinda fixed in maybe 4-5 months or more, at that point my park will be so big that the game may work but ill have to bare with 10-15 fps again. so basically its ruining all of that special feeling of finally playing the "new" game, finally tackling a new mega project, finally playing with switch tracks and so on... the accumulation of negative experiences with the game realy do take a lot of the fun away :/

It's getting better but I feel in the last couple of updates they've stopped improving the UI. It is not yet good enough and professionally finished. You still need to address the heatmap notch (move it like in Planet Zoo), the browser previews are too small and low quality (give a larger option like in Planet Zoo), the pause/save menu full screen grey thing is hideous (make it pop up over your park like Planet Zoo).... Let us change a staff member's zone WITHIN their info box (Like you can in Planet Zoo)... I could go on all but I'm sure everything has been given to you by the community multiple times. The staff scheduler needs improving, most people avoid using it completely. Why on earth can we still not shift + click multiple objects to multi-select them without going into multi-select first, like you can in PLANET ZOO?

It is clear all the UI was all designed for console and then ported to PC, and it does not work. Basically, you perfected it all over time with Planet Zoo and abandoned all that progress and started from scratch with Planet Coaster 2 and every player has struggled with it and begged you to fix it since day 1. A few things were addressed in the first couple of updates and it was feeling promising and getting better and better but then it stopped.

I only got 50+ hours with PC2.
I'm still struggling with the sandbox park I started on day 1...

It's testing, waiting for an update, testing and waiting for the next update. Each time I'm starting the game will end up in a short session because the game feels uncomfortably bad and is conquering my enthusiasm for playing it...

I really want to play this game with it's new features, but I don't know how many updates it will need to reach a state of acceptance for me.

I'm in the same boat. Only open the game to check what's new included with an update. Not enough there to inspire me to build despite all the stuff that isn't up to par.

Instead I continue to build in PC1. Fulfilling even without pools.

I'm experiencing the same.. I have 500 h in PC1 and ungodly amount in PZ, still I find myself not playing this game- just opening to check the updates, plopping a few objects down and then going "meh" and exiting.I have some park ideas that excite me, but as soon as I try and realise them it feels like theres so many hurdles to overcome, esp the UI, it just sucks the excitement out of me..

Oh i can totally related to that. Probably around 20 ideas i had for coasters or attractions i had to abandone, either because bugs, stupid limitations (no launch tracks steeper than 90 degrees, multiverse cant do inversions), or simply because of the lack of content (animatronics and serious lack of custom media in the first months). And im not even gonna start about the switch tracks and all of those only beeing available on one single coaster type…
Now last month i started building a star wars ride. Many triggers and high piece count for an immersive fun thematic darkride. Now adter the newest update i have a near complete ride sitting in my builder park waiting to get moved over into wonderverse. I cant move it over because they reintroduced the piece limit. Even worse, the triggers take sooooooo much time an patience because either sometimes at random they only trigger half, sometimes none trgger at all, sometimes the game simply crashes when a video gets triggered.

Yet frontier keeps holding on to the slogan „boundless creativity“… sorry but this aint it.

Oh and after update 3 we cant even multiselect anymore, combine into one building and instantly start editing that building. We have to exit multiselect then select the building and only then start building. Its such a small thing but literally makes everything related to building so much more tedious and exhausting

And quick hotfixes seems to be totaly abandoned....
Yup. Thats a big letdown. Soon as people started praising the updates they stop with the hotfixes.

i know i keep repeating myself but: 3 months for custom audio. 3 whole months. If they bug it AGAIN somehow next update probably gonna be 4 months even for that single basic feature

This is where i am now. 1200 hours in and the bugs just stop me in my tracks.
Then when an update comes out, i get a few more hours untill i become frustrated again.
Frontier are appeasing the most vocal people hoping it will help change the reviews etc rather than actually caring about the core game!
Things started to look better with the road map and communication, we even got a few hot fix patches after the first few updates. That stopped very quickly and now theres the fact the update "may be coming on the 22nd" with no hard time line.
I see a future where we are not even getting the monthly updates and will just have to hope and guess at when the next patch will come.

That future of no monthly updates are here sooner rather than later I am afraid. There is still nothing on what's coming in May and then there is no more info after that. The roadmap has been updated, but they all still ends in May. I suspect that after May, we will see no more updates, but we will see a whole bunch of paid DLCs they want us to buy...

Heck, the way we are being treated, we may soon have to pay for updates to fix the base game for things that were either missing or broken since launch. I would not be surprised if the custom audio fix will be inside a paid DLC update rather than in a quick hotfix.

At the moment they are painting a ship that is full of holes in hope that passers by are fooled and come aboard!

Edit: Dont get me wrong, its a beautiful looking ship on the outside. As long as you stick to the top decks and dont venture too deep, you will have a good time.

Damn I didn't realise a lot of you were on the same page here! The most I've done since the roadmap actually became a thing is go on, see what's new and honestly I struggle so much to move on after that so I just exit.

Also the Frontier workshop is slowly killing the game. I feel that even back in the early days of PC1 with steam, the workshop was FULL and I mean full to the brim, daily, of new content from different people. If I log on PC2 like once a week lately, you're lucky if you get 5-10 pages of "new" things on the workshop since your last visit and most of them are just "updates" of older ones cause for some reason updates to workshop items count as a new upload (I could be wrong).

It's so fricking frustrating and I'm sure I'm not alone when we as a community dont want to constantly bombard the team behind it with complaints because they're literally doing what they get told im assuming from higher ups, so its not entirely on them. Take Planet zoo, that game is so perfect in every sense and its took YEARS to make it so. Why couldn't all that just be ported over to begin with rather than a half year into its cycle? Like the new update brings restaurants, albeit with a snazzy few additions to it, but we could've had that on DAY ONE on PC2 realistically.

I don't want to let the game down but man its so hard to get into it and I don't see the drip feeding updates making a change for me.. it's a sad day, because I love this genre of game and I love planet. :(

What is missing is a true competitor to Planet Coaster and Frontier. Right now, they are the only game in town and it shows. No passion, no care about the outcome. They know there are enough enthusiasts out there loving the genera that they will get their money, so why go the extra mile and make this even a decent game? But hey, we get a "fun" trailer for "blowing up" peeps...

I also fully agree with the workshop. It was one of the worst decisions they could make. Instead of bringing together creativity across all platforms, we got a poop yard with half baked stuff that are impossible to find because the tagging and search does not work. It was exciting to brows the Steam workshop for PC1 and PZ. It was easy to use, search worked and it was well maintained. The Frontier version is just garbage at best.

I so want this game to be great, but they are so far away from even being close to average at this point that I see little to no hope. Also keep in mind, the roadmap is soon ending. May is the last update listed, and it has been the last month listed for 3 months now. Paid DLCs incoming...

Some time ago, I decided to not support Frontier with any more € as long as I'm not happy with PC2 (this is all about issues, quality and playability).
They can release dlcs on mass, but I'll wait for a good PC2 state.

Unfortunately this will affect PZ, too... This is my way to react to their bad decisions they made for PC2 and against loyal customers.

Still hoping for day x to come (it will take a much larger roadmap)...
