Who Hasn't Played the Game Yet - And is Excited?!!!

I'm wondering how many people are like me and still have not yet played the game at all? - And are therefore hyper-excited for December 16th??

I just cannot WAIT!!

At this point, I'm feeling like one of the lucky ones...because it will all be fresh and new to me when I first climb into the cockpit on that fateful day!

Oh boy oh boy - Christmas truly will be coming early! :) Yipppeeeeee!

I find myself grateful that I have already played. It won't be such a colossal let down come Saturday.

You need to get an Oculus Rift..its a whole new world with that trust me.

I would love to play the game with that! I'm going to the launch party on Saturday, so I'm hoping they will have the game set up with one so I can try it out!

I haven't played the game yet, and it is absolutely ripping my heart out! I have almost, ALMOST considered spending >$1000 to build a Windows system to run it, but I just can't justify that right now ... I have to somehow wait for the Mac beta to begin.

Me too ;)! Didn't want to spoil the fun with alpha and beta play. Can hardly wait to strap on my dk2 and fly off with my sidewinder. I'm sure I'll be playing more than 100 hours over Christmas and new years eve.

Is using bootcamp not a viable option for mac users? I thought I read that DB has used bootcamp on his mac.

Bootcamp. Works great.

It's a viable option for some. Not for me ... I won't spend money on MS Windows, won't dedicate part of my Mac's hard drive to it, and my sound system is not Windows-compatible so I'd not be able to fully enjoy the game even if the first two parts weren't an issue. So I'm left waiting for the Mac beta to begin.

Ahh, so sorry. I have not had a mac in years so have not really kept up on it.
I might have an extra copy of windows I could give you but sounds like the hardware limitations preclude that option.
Hang in there hopefully it will not take too long to get the mac beta out.

I tried very hard to resist but have to admit to about 30 minutes of play running the first three tutorial missions.

Despite the above lapse I am still super-excited :D

I paid the extra £15 for the beta access, with the intention to start playing right away. But a chronic lack of free time means I'll probably end up waiting at least until gamma before I play, which I'm actually quite pleased about now. Despite all the recent negativity publicity I'm still properly excited about this game and have no doubt it'll be worth the wait :)

My only hope is that the Oculus Rift CV1 is released before I've got bored of E.D. I'm really tempted to just buy a DK2 but I can only afford to buy one Rift, so figure it'd be better to wait.

I too picked up a pre-order today and am excited. I waited because I didn't really want to put too much time into a beta, but knew I would get the game anyway.

I had read that the pre-orders will get a download on/after Nov 22nd, just to play the single player training/tutorial missions. Not wanting to derail this thread, but is that official? Did I get that right? Thanks for any info..

I ran ED in bootcamp on an imac with a Geforce 675mx and 1mb gpu ram, with no issues at all right up until half way thru beta 2, I only switched back to a PC as i got heavily back into PC gaming and spent more time in bootcamp than i did OSX, that and i saw a 34inch widescreen monitor i fell in love with and took away my need to get eyefinity. As long as yopu have space for a windows partition you can even download a trial of windows and try it for yourself.

The rift temps me, but tbh i'm happy with track IR and i can still see to pick up my cup of tea :)
