Who is/was CMDR Thrust

So I'm wondering, I heard the name mentioned several times but I'm not sure of its origin.

Apparently CMDR Thrust has a forum account but has not made any posts recently. I was able to find some old posts (like years old) but I can't tell whether it was a joke or meant seriously. Can anyone provide some info or links on the history behind CMDR Thrust from Bradford?

The joke started back in beta. Patch downloads were slow and Cmdr Thrust (if he were real IDK, I seem to remember a few posts by him but then memory is a fickle thing) lived down the street from Frontiers old headquarters. So the joke was, via his proximity he had a head start on the game after a patch. It sort of grew until he was playing the game that was months/years ahead of us and reporting back on how great it was.
