So I found my new friend in the second station I docked in.

He was Harmless, and was convinced that aliens existed as a boy. It ended up getting him into prison. (there's a story there that needs expanding on!)

After getting out he turned to piloting a fighter to earn a bit of cash and found that he loved it, but he's still wondering about them aliens.

I thought he was the perfect partner to bring on an exploration trip to find some alien artefacts.. though it looks like they've already been found so there's some of the wonder gone

Mine is Magnolia Hickman. She was a little expensive to hire but she's got some mean flying skills in her fighter and since I hired her to protect the T9 I bought last night, we've killed two would-be pirates between us .

I hired a pilot that had served in the Navy and that had done trader protection at the cerberus plague outbreak.
The reputation was good.

Turned out she took 12% of my profit without doing anything.
Fired her immediately.

I'm done with that. What's next? 50% of my assets when fired? Nope.

Seriously, though ... I really dig we get to see so many unique faces to hire and start building our crew with, but given I've already gotten my ship blown once this update (passenger was wanted at destination ...oops), I simply don't have the heart to hire anyone to keep on my roster permanently. Not until they get rid of that ridiculous crew permadeath bit.

Too bad. I'm an avid Keelback fan and was looking forward to this update because of the SLF.
