who managed to trick death so far?

hey people!

just curious, since the last gamma wipe i managed to die exactly 0 times :) and i was wondering if thats something special or if i was doing it wrong :p

i got close to death including situations with like 3% or 1% hull but as the title says - i tricked death so many times now that i begin to get a bit paranoid. how far can i go?

I only died once and that was because i dove into a star as the quickest way to get back to civilisation, not dying is easy and requires no special effort, just avoid combat, the game is way too safe i think.

true, if you're cautious i found its quite easy to manage to stay alive.

but i didnt avoid combat tho - only started trading 2 days ago. all the money for my cobra i got from bounty hunting. went freagle -> viper -> cobra

2 deaths since gamma, both from head on collisions when dog fighting NPCs. In fact, I feel that combat is still too easy. It's too easy to take on the bigger ships and win (in my Cobra), and it's too easy to escape when things get hairy. I never really feel in any danger, expect when taking on other players in the conflict zones. In fact since gamma I've never taken hull damage from an NPC (other than the collisions mentioned above).

I've been playing every evening since launch and tbh, I don't find it particularily hard to stay alive.
That said, one time I learned the mechanics of Watch the fuel gauge! the hard way and the other time
I had bitten off more than I could chew and when I made it to the station, the life support was on <20 seconds
while my ship was held together by prayers. Dinged the docking bay cage...

I've only died the one time when I misjudged my run and clipped an imperial capital ship. Came close once when I ran into an NPC with dumbfire missiles for the first time and got too close before I realized he had them.

Just the one death since gamma started, rammed my cobra into the station on the way out, last run of the night. Wine and space don't mix :(

Since some of the crazy interdictions vanished (completely shot up to pieces before i could even deploy weapons) i didn't die once except for 1 time 2 days ago when i accidently hit the silent running button my HOTAS.
Since i was close to a star i thought that the temperature rise was normal until it went out of control. Then i noticed i was in silent running mode and forgot with button it was... Before i found it....i melted.
But i don't seek combat either, not equiped for that atm.

I find it odd that someone with the perfect poker face went for Chess instead. And no, I'm not good at it. Thus there can be no contribution, only fireworks of the expensive kind.

I have died 5 times. Twice in sidewinder from hitting boost, one in a station, one when mining. Other 2 times I got rammed in viper, security got me outside a station for firing first on pirate.

I haven't died since the start of Gamma. The closest I came was yesterday when I was escaping an ambush at a mining field on around 13% hull, I was then interdicted afterwards but managed to complete and engage in my hyper-drive before the interdiction took effect. 0 Deaths and hope to keep it that way! :D

Hi. No death so far, I wiped my gamma save to be fair with the newscomers and starting a sort of "ironman" challenge.

What I've learned from the last beta/gamma :
1) do no fly near arms of station (instakill),
2) enter the letterbox with super-extra caution (learned since elite 84 :D),
3) beware of spatial awarness in melee dogfight, especially against heavier opponents. They tend to ram a lot,
4) beware of the "I forget I'm in silent running implosion",
5) always send docking request,
6) always have the possibility to run.

Current loadout comply with point 6. Viper with A class distribution module and mostly A-B class main modules.
Current occupation : bounty hunting and some missions for reputation (friendly with Federation).
Somewhere near 300 kills. I play mostly in solo mod, to avoid letterbox crowding and outposts "access denied spam parties".

The only time it has been dangerous so far was a near-hit with a lakon type-9 during a dogfight.

Fly Safe.

I have 0 deaths since I wiped 1 week before release. Only been flying a almost fully upgraded Sidewinder. Taken out Pythons, Clippers etc...

Had a close call yesterday with an Anaconda. He broke my windscreen and had 5 min to station. Made it with 2 min spare. So zero deaths :)

I haven't died since the wipe either, but I too play it safe.
My closest call was a 'boost in a belt' incident where I managed to scramble back to a station and dock with 29 seconds left of my oxygen. That was pretty intense.
I learned two great lessons though:
1. Upgrade life support
2. Don't boost into asteroids

I predict a ram death :D

But good job nonetheless
The Sidewinder is really a pleasure to fly but how do you manage it's meager shields against oppoments with loads of beam turrets ?
