Who needs the fuel rats? Theorycraft Anaconda build

So, i was thinking, what happens if you combine an insane number of fuel tanks with an Anaconda kitted for exploration and economic jumps.

And this is what i came up with: http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=706,,2-4sA09Y8S2CD88I,5JY5H_5H_5H_5GQ5GQ5GQ4_w5Es2UI2jw

40LY max range, although must of your time you'd be jumping with a max range of 20... but max range isn't needed, because you would be doing economical jumps.

I saw someone design an Asp or a DBE that could do 1000LY if they had economic jump switched on.

Any guesses for how far this baby could go with economic jumps? Anyone willing to bet it could make it to Sag A* without refuelling? Anyone mad enough to try?

Not that difficult in an Asp. For giggles I mapped out an economical route once in my Asp without any extra fuel tanks, and it got to nearly 800 Ly before the route line went dotted. Probably depends a lot on where your route goes (i.e. you'll get further near the core - route plotting issue aside)

Of course, it was like 350 jumps, so I had no intention of actually doing it. :)

I did have a plan to fly without a fuel scoop and have a full load of fuel tanks (480T) and make a fuel rats operation to see how far I can get in economic and then get the rats to run and refuel me. Target being the other side of the galaxy before returning home, biggest risk is loosing concentration with so many jumps in economic mode...
I sadly don't have the time to do it right now but I imagine it would give you some serious exploration credits if you made it there and back :p

It won't make it to Sag A* even if you swapped out the scanners & fuel scoop for more tanks. I did some testing about this possibility prior to 1.3 being released and whilst it might just be possible in terms of the fuel used for jumping it became obvious that the fuel needed just to keep the ship powered would be decisive. Since 1.3 that fuel drain has been rather increased so you would run out earlier.

What is all this fascination with not fuel scooping? Fuel Tanks are dead weight imo. I only have 20T on my Asp and even this much feels like overkill 99% of the time.
