Who owns them all?

As the old prophecy said :

Three Ships for the Feds under the Sun,
Seven for the Imps in their halls of stone,
Nine for the Alliance doomed to die,
One for Fdev on their dark throne
In the Land of Raxxla where the Shadows lie.
One Ship to rule them all, One Ship to find them,
One Ship to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Raxxla where the Shadows lie.

I own, or owned a quantity of ships. And would own more if engineering was not such a noxious grind, as I like to change build and whatnot in any game. The only ships I never found a real purpose are the Saud Kruger ship. They specialize in carrying people, but I never had a situation where so many missions asked me to go to the same place (except for Robigo, see later), and when it does, usually another ship do it better (Robigo and Python). I heard they make good explorers, but I like phantom, asp and even the DBX.

This is also to be expanded to trading, since Python is ALSO the best medium sized hauler. I really wish Fdev would adress that.

I really wish I had a reason to buy one of those saud kruger ship, and using them for a gameplay loop I haven't done yet. But all I've seen so far is not encouraging. I mean, at best, it would be trading but with a different cargo.

So a little under a month later and I’ve managed to rank up to the heady heights of Federation Rear Admiral - “Sir yes Sir”. Which allowed me to get all the ships available to me including the Corvette. Initially I was planning on jumping straight into engineering on the Vette but have decided to go for a complete change of direction and take a wander instead and try - TRY - to see if I can get on with the Odyssey legs game. The ships are all stored on “The Sir Clive Sinclair” awaiting my return.

I am sure, like 100% sure there must be many people who have every ship… I am also guessing someone - or at least far fewer - have maxed them all out with engineering. I mean this is like Quintet Elite V, but still sure it must have been done. So if you’ve done it where there any surprises, like say a Meta Adder being able to take down a poorly engineered FDL?
About 70 ships or something. All engineered to g5, I just do not accept intermediate results.
I would say it is laziness because no need to care about storing/swapping modules making mess of module storage, I just take any of my ship and sure that it is ready for current operation.
Not sure about "surprises", but engineering does change things.
