Well we had the discussion about using a midi interface as a controller and a guitar riff to kick off supercruise so why not random vegetables to lower your landing gear?

Totally irrelavent thought but the first thing that sprung to mind was Beverly Hills Cop where Eddie Murphy disables the two detectives car with a Banana in the tail pipe (exhaust pipe to us Brits) and them explaining to there boss what happened, that part of the film still has me in stitches.
