I've seen the original........ I don't think I need a remake.

So who saved Mr. Banks?

Its not a remake... Disney in making him likeable at the end

No remakes? Star Wars hello...

Aladdin and Cinderella out too..

Apparently Bambi is a horror movie..

Alita looks good which is good fer me cos even if I didnt, my daughter would drag me to the cinema anyway cos shes an anime fanatic and its appealed to her in a big way.

Ye I wanna see Mary Poppins...nothing will ever replace the original, nothing could...but still looks like a decent watch. Then again, I dont understand why anyone would have issues in admitting something like that...ye guys never cry over a movie? I know I have ^

Nope:

For those that have had crap childhoods; 'A spoon full of sugar', only enhances. Just how crap things, really are.

Speaking of uncanny valley, dear god those CGI characters look weird. Why they even bother having like three actual actors in there? Just make it a cartoon, would make it so much more watchable.

I've seen the original and probaly won't make any special effort to see the new one. It will probably end up on terrestrial tv maybe xmas 2020. Maybe I 'll catch it then.

One thing in the original that stands out as much as van Dyke's 'Cockney' accent is that the robin in 'A spoonful of sugar' is completely wrong (aside from obviously being stuffed and animated). They used an American Robin which would be a very unusual bird to see in London and is quite distinct from the European Robin that you would expect to see

They used to get white people to play 'blackface' . It also shows a bank giving a great return on investment..

Didn't saw "Mary Poppins" Disney original, I have huge star crush on Blunt, but with all background, and not liking how they did Mary character in US version in general, I think I will pass. Soviets had very good TV series I think which were a bit more soulful, but good luck making smart kid's / family movie these days (besides Pixer seems to have care blanche to do that).

Alita in turn looks good. Lot of things sold me in trailer, so I hope it turns out very good.

I guess I see Julie Andrews in "10" more while rewatching it than I do the old Mary Poppins now.

Yes, the Alita trailer looked promising to me.
