Thanks, Shaftoe. I have actually been wondering why all those marks show up on the canopy. I'm sure there's some logical explanation behind it.

The real world reason is very simple. Unless you work really hard (and take quite a bit of time) you will always leave some smears on the glass of your car. These are not visible unless the light hits them at the right angle, and then they become obvious, because they glow in the prismatic effect.
