Whos the coolest?

Hey cmdrs, im not looking to see whos into the latest dnb bangers or whos wearing the latest fashions but rather whos running cold ship builds?
Whats your coldest operating temp and whats your build to achieve it?
How cold does a ship need to be to go full stealth or invisible to npcs at least?

my dbx runs around 16% iirc - I think 20% is more or less invisible to scanners unless you nearly touch them or fire on them. It does not make you invisible though.

The colder you are, the closer they need to be to complete a scan/target you.

20% is where you start to be more difficult to detect without being very close.

Keep in mind that once hostile, NPCs will continue to engage you regardless of how cold you are. You may be able to lose some (read: inexperienced) players by going cold/silent, but unless you outrun or kill them, you won't lose NPCs that are attacking.

Thanks cmdrs. Im not looking to get into a fight with them i just want to scan them with out them seeing me first, these are high ranking very hostile NPCs, if any one remembers the black flight? I wish just to observe and scan their wakes when they jump.

DBX. Hiding on a planetary surface with most systems shut down I can get her down to about 8%. With everything off and on emergency air I can get her down to 0% without using a heat-sink.

When flying, it is still the coolest running ship in the game IMO. o7

Well it looks like a dbx will be the ship to go for. Im guessing small modules engineered for efficiency will keep the temp down, i think il need to add plenty of HRs just incase i get detected, last time they saw me instantly and opened up on my cbmk3 i lasted a whole 3seconds.

Thanks statis, much appreciated. Like i said im not looking to engage in combat but to just observe the black flight undetected until i can scan their fsd wakes and hopefully follow them to their point of origin. Ive found 3 sites they frequent and and hoping to triangulate their home system.
