Whos tipping off the security!!!??

Smuggling missions and security.

Been taking smuggling missions all week more or less.
Most of them completed without a hitch but it wasnt more than a million each run.
Now i stacked 4 missions of a total payout of a little over 2 million.
Fine, got security on my neck the second i enter SC, he interdicts. Im in a Python, security in a Viper.
I have no chance, he succseeds, i immediatly try and use a heat sink to no avail. 650.000k fine.
Not that big of a deal really. I've decided to stop paying fines anyway. I just dont like fines. Big or small. Especially if i can do little to avoid it. Now i am sure i prob could have avoided the fine. Not the problem.

Then on the way to the delivery station, i drop from SC and a security pops out with me. He immediatly starts a scan but this time my heat sink worked i think or he just failed. I dont know.
But what annoys me is that they were on to me. From what? How? Who? Why? When?
ALL week ive barly had any security on me whatsoever.... and now its like they've been tipped off. (Using my imagination here since there are no clues to why this happened. It just suddently did. Been operating in the same systems too, more or less.
What gives?

To me this is lazy design. Its like when you make certain amounts of credits the game just throws absurd bricks at you instead of doing something that makes sense.

Bonus rant: Also, why do the A.I have to interact with you every damn mission you accept!? Im delivering 2 tons of Fruits and Vegetables... and some AI wants to talk to me in SC!!! COME ON!!! Of ALL the things beeing delivered in this vast solar system of ours... i'd imagine FOOD beeing the on the top of the list of deliveries from A to B. And an AI wants to drag me from SC to give me a counter offer!!! SERIOUSLY! APPLES AND ORANGES!!! AND YOU WANT TO TALK!!! WHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??? (I always flip my finger really hard at the TV when an AI talks to me and i tense my arm up really good and kinda shake my arm while saying foul words out loud through my quenched teeth.) #¤% OFF!!!!

Please fix the AI or make them shut the frack up. Im on the brink of NOT accepting ANY missions. Just so i can get some peace of mind. *Siiiigh*

Rant over.

Happy New Years Commanders!

To the OP: please try a Cobra MK3 rather than an python for smuggling missions. It's all about speed. Some guys says asp is also fine, but personally i hate the "new" asp, i really loved the asp from FE2.

It's odd: when i am heading towards a HRES/HazRES, no interdicts.
When I come back with 2MCr bounties, 2 or more hit me.
And ALWAYS in formation, for some reason, as if they smell the bounties...
Quite odd, indeed.

To the OP, I have a teensy confession to make...

It was me. I grassed you up to the rozzers, 'cos the missus needed a new run about, and she had her little heart set on a Corvette.

In fact, I've been stalking you for weeks, Commander. Sending my minions to irritate you in super-cruise has been costly but effective.

Finally it has all paid off, and I'm being taken around Alpha Centauri in the new Corvette. Who knows, we may decide to spend the night, toasting each other with finest Lavian Brandy, as we count the dirty lucre and think of you...

Chiquita? I hear they do bananas. And bananas are good for you. I read it somewhere.
Bananas went extinct in 2104 due to a lack of genetic diversity.

^^ THIS ^^

The Cobra MK III is ideal for smuggling. Of course, you cannot stack a bunch of missions like the Python can. I wrote in detail of the approach I use a few weeks back... Let me see... OK, here you go: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=217112&p=3318955&viewfull=1#post3318955

Just curious: why the extra step of SC in system instead of jumping out of the system and heading straight to your destination?

I had system security all over me today. He was persistent...and an in a Conda. I just flew in astraight line. Eventually, he jumped out. Sometimes patience wins. Lol.

I would imagine one of the workers loading cargo onto your ship has a family member in the hold. As soon as you leave the dock, he is on the line with security agents.

If you're getting impossible police, I believe it was added by Frontier to stop mode-switching to pick up lots of missions.

If you think that's wrong, and that you should be able to pick up all of those missions, this game isn't for you. No offense or sass intended, just stating the facts.

lol, if that is the case, then quite frankly it's awesome. I can't think of a better way to discourage unwanted half exploits than simply stacking the odds against you if you decide to do it.

I dont mode switch.

I was pondering to make a thread about smuggling missions but it would be taken as a rant which is not what I would intend to :p but smuggling missions irked me today.

We get it, every mission dealer is twofaced and a snitch, but come on xP

I use an asp, and I am not connected to a powerplay. Today irked me a lot, and look at the spoilers below for how it looked when I entered a new system, this was with 1 mission of narcotics, and one mission for information handling... so a total of 2 missions

Behold (picture heavy spoiler alert):
First system with interaction - I am famous today.

Then it was silent for 2-3 jumps untill:

These people really do not want to let me go, and they are very good and extremely fast

I mean, This keeps on going the entire time home, to the bubble and I took pictures of it all.
album instead - but it is the same NPC's stalking me spamming me in swarming masses for two missions....

The two best solutions I can think of is to have NPC's not follow you fast enough, IE you will be able to out run them, if you are fast enough, you will leave them a system or two behind, and they will lose track of you and that is that, no more stalking.

Another option at least for the ones that wish to give you something or have something interesting for you, I have a mission that will give me 6 million or more, make these NPC's actually ocassionally offer me a better deal, the best deal i've had on these things when I thought "meh why the hell not" was somewhere around 100k... I'm not gonna do that, no way, not even for reputation...

But also, the triggers do in my honest opinion need to be tuned down, I get that theres snitches, but it is way to predictable, and it does not feel right that I have upwards of 8 different NPC's stalking me for two missions and as soon as I don't have a mission anymore, they are gone.

A last option could be to improve the immersion by having the trigger going down, you may or may not have NPC's stalking you, and if you have some stalking you for a information mission, they will not leave you alone even if you complete the mission.

Example: I got a mission to X station, I deliver said mission to station, and NPC wants to talk to me about it, I had the mission, I had the information, it is not just erased from my head, and the NPC's might want to know what information I give, voila, you have NPC's interested in information you gave away, you can become the snitch, and earn some extra cash for telling them about the information afterhand.

In any regard, the smuggling run I did today was way out there, I think the screenshots tell their own tale of how silly it can be. I do however have to say that the asp does a good job at running away, I managed to avoid interdiction for the most and only got interdicted 3 times, which is not all that much all things considered. anyone with other ideas?

Lol yes, ignore the fact that the game is poorly coded and the problem is with the NPCs that are cheaply scripted to intercept / follow / interdict regardless of what you do. Yep, great advice, change ships and just ignore the bad game coding. :) But really OP for now this is the only option: get a fast ship to outrun the badly scripted game / NPCs.

While I agree that what you have posted warrants some investigation as it seems a little heavy, you don't need to take missions to encounter these NPCs. I encounter them quite regularly during normal trading runs (probably once every four or five jumps).
