I have a somewhat nonstandard prescription - long sighted with astigmatism.
I was hugely disappointed with the DK2 at first. Pixelation, screen door, unreadable, no sense of 3d, RGB splitting and chromatic aberrations... you name it. Tried it without specs on... slightly better.
However after hours spent fiddling with the calibration, IPD, specs back on, switching A/B lenses on DK2 I finally had something of an epiphany: Everything sharp, colours good, screen door gone (yes gone), everything suddenly had a sense of scale and 3d.
The resolution is still not great but using the DK2 is a real treat.
tl;dr don't be quick to write of the DK2. You may need to spend a lot of time playing with all the settings. Worked for me, anyway.
