Whose ship is the "Artemesia" ?

Imperial-aligned Majestic-class Interdictors without an INV prefix seem to be Senator, Admiral, etc. personal ships.

Whose is the "Artemesia"?

Usually found on permanent station in LTT 9810

Hm. Tough one. All I've got: LTT 9810 is referenced in a few Galnet articles dealing with Zemina Torval and some criminal...stuff, which then-Princess Arissa Lavigny Duval stamped out.

See Galnet Apr 16-21, 3301. 3 stories.

Included all that mention LTT 9810. Your guess who might own the ship, Zemina (who is referenced essentially every time the system is) or:
a previously unknown underworld consultancy, who are believed to be based somewhere in the vicinity of LTT 9810.

Edit: interesting to note that her personal Majestic is the INV Xanadu in Synteini. In fact I can't find or remember a single Senator's personal ship not being INV - the only other explicit example I know of is Patreus' INV Imperial Freedom.

the ‘Cleopatra’ and the ‘Marlin’, two of Senator Torval’s Majestic Class Interdictors, were being provisioned to leave for the Ongkuma system.
Senator Torval is still on her holiday cruise on the ‘Xanadu’ so was unavailable for comment.
The first two having no INV prefix might be indicative (along with others in other articles), but the Xanadu also receiving no prefix when in fact it has one counters that. Imperial Freedom is also listed in 3300 without prefix but in fact is INV.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Yeah, I've wondered that myself.

To be honest, I think it's just a cap ship that appeared in those Galnet Stories and FD forgot to remove it afterwards. ;)

Certainly possible, but I always hope for chaos ;)
Underworld rears its ugly head (again) in the heart of the Empire? I'm all over it.

Torval also owns the Boudica and the Elizabeth, which responded to the Sorbago Slave Rebellion. The Artemesia fits with the naming theme (see: Artemisia I and II of Caria), and would take her personal fleet up to 6 Majestic Interdictors.

I don't know why it doesn't have an INV, especially if the Xanadu does have an INV designation. I didn't see the Boudica, Elizabeth, Marlin, or Cleopatra in action, so I don't know if they had an INV designation.

Speaking of personal fleets, is one of the Majestics in the Lavigny's Legion home system still Aisling's Hope? Ostensibly the personal fleet of Arissa Lavigny-Duval, but called Aisling's Hope.

i'd think it's anywhere in the gray spectrum between of the two:
a) names tend to repeat themselves in noble houses. also could be a planet the ship is named after.
b) 'Aisling's Sour Grapes' would be entirely too crude, obvious, undeniable, impolite and unstylish.

Xanadu does not carry an INV Prefix.

Makes sense, I haven't ever seen the Boudica and Elizabeth in game.

Aisling's Hope is above New Carthage.

We may never know for certain unless FD gives us a hint.

The theories based on it being the name of an ancient queen are interesting and do fit in with previously mentioned naming schemes. Seeing as I'm not a scholar of the classics and ancient Greece, I had a different reaction. The name rang a bell, some kind of medicinal plant I thought. A short google search reveals it's actually a whole genus of plants including Tarragon, Sagewort and Mugwort. One particular species stood out Artemisia Absinthium. Among other things its used to produce the notorious spirit absinthe. It also goes by the name Wormwood. This is a name with it's own cultural baggage, not least it's biblical mentions in reference to bitterness Probably the best known is Revelations 8:10-11 "The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter."

It certainly sounds like something we should keep an eye on.
