Newcomer / Intro whre can I get AX Multi-cannon AX missile Rack

Are AX weaponry solely anti-thargoid and useless against other pc's? In short, can I equip AX gear and hunting at CZ's/Res sites?

They aren't useless against 'normal' enemies, but they perform far worse then standard weapons. Anti Xeno Weapons are really only intended for use against Thargoids.

I'm not sure what modifier they use to achieve this result since on paper AX variants are straight up superior to 'normal' counterparts. But you can find many threads where people have done DPS testing with AX vs Conventional weapons against normal opponents and the AX weapons lose by a significant margin.

additionally i would say,
the problem with AX weapons vs. non-thargoid targets, is the limited ammo (no synthesis) and the inability to mod them.

how they have done it? most likely they have introduced two more damage types to the game -> anti-xeno and caustic.
while Thargoids deal caustic damage, they have high resists vs. thermal and kinetic damage and a resist-hole against "anti-xeno"
our ships on the other hand, have a high resist against anti-xeno and none against caustic.
the outfitting screen doesnt tell you how much of the damage the AX weapons do, is the displayed one (it only shows the biggest share)

comparable to plasma accelerators, that display as "absolute" but in reality, it deals absolute, thermal and kinetic

Thank you CMDR Darth.

You're very welcome.

Makes sense, thanks!
