Why a docking computer unable to dock with crashing into stuff on orbital construction sites?

My question here is fairly and it happens nearly every time why a docking computer unable to dock without crashing into stuff on orbital construction sites?

The docking computer is all but useless as it constantly crashes your ship into stuff as they are frankly not designed with the bigger ships in mind which is in itself strange as it takes a lot of haulage.

Can the DEVs sort it out as it's frankly annoying it's gone unnoticed!!

Yeah, had this quite a few times - certainly keeps you on your toes ;)

Here a pic of one that I probably shouldn't have got away with - held together with string and gaffer tape

Unfixed, sure. Unnoticed though? Given how many long-standing (worse) bugs exist, I'm not convinced... ;)
This. In a large station, the docking computer can't launch a Cutter without ramming the entrance if it launches from the two rows of landing pads closest to the mail slot. It's been that way since before I played. There's no way FDEV has never known. Has never cared, more like. Maybe this worse iteration of the problem will finally get it addressed. Maybe the current development team has no idea it happens.

Even irl traffic control can mess up. With construction sites, once docking access has been granted, manually fly to within a 1000m or so of the pad in a good position for the auto dock to work.

I manually fly my T9 past the construction platform umbrella and point it in the space between those 3 #!*% floating panels before triggering auto dock. It helps that my T9 is slow (150 m/s, boost to 210).

I suggest adding confirmations to one of the issue reports:
(Top issue has 1 day to run and has the most confirmations so far)
Edit: Top issue can now be voted for 👍
A streamer said the limit of 6 votes per player is reset when there's an update.
I haven't voted on other issues for a long time but it says I have 6, so can't vote.

probably worth learning how to fly in the meantime - the docking computer has been smashing people into stations for years now :)
If the deity had meant us to learn how to fly he would not have invented Supercruise Assist or Advanced Docking Computers for launching and wilderness ground landings.

A streamer would be jolly incorrect in that case - the only way you get votes back is by one of your issues being marked as fixed, or by de-voting them (which is done by clicking the “voted” popularity triangle on the report).

I always find it worth checking “My Issues” after an update to see if any votes have become available, and if any of the voted issues have been fixed but not marked as so.
