Why a second Giraffe, Lion, Zebra, and Flamingo are important (aka: Variety is the spice of life)

Maybe that would be a good type of final pack - not so much a pack to wrap up some of the most wanted remaining animals, but ..something akin to an epilogue. Lower effort, still part of the game obviously but not something that people should get their hopes up to include completely new types of animals. Just something to give us a slightly deeper choice than what we have now, for these more high profile species.

Not directed at you on this part, but I should stress that again. The higher profile species. The bigger names, the traditionally more popular or iconic animals. I know that what's more popular will vary from person to person but thinking of it more of a whole. I'm not saying every species we only have 1 representative of should get another. I think as a whole player base, we're probably okay with 1 Armadillo, 1 Cassowary, 1 Pangolin, and so forth.

Also @RedPandaReggie that's a lot of animals on that list, over 100, and these are just the priorities? I'm not saying you can't put that out there, I'm just saying you're almost certainly going to have to rely on mods to get anywhere near close to that. Then again, keep reaching high, it's how progress and if you don't ask, you won't get.
How dare you slander the dwarf cassowary. Though it is my favorite animal I admit it'd be a horrible choice. Armadillo I could see another one, I like big hairy armadillos. But the pangolin, most understandable. If you've seen yoav_r's taxonomically group discussion then you'd know that the pangolin is the only group where everyone agreeded we don't need another one.

I was really just mentioning ones that exist in captivity that would boost diversity, Frontier can of course choose which ones they would include, I was just giving a scope as to what is possible in my mind

Sure, that works for sandbox play. But not anything else (and I have doubts Franchise etc will ever be reworked to accept something besides official content.) Again, not asking for 1 more of every animal, and not even 1 more of all animals we have just 1 of. Roughly 10 to a dozen at most.
1. Wait for franchise support to end
2. Use mods

There’s a handful I would add simply based on real zoos and the species they hold as they equally hold a place in real world zoos to their current in game counterparts. But there are others I also would not want.

I would like:
  • Asiatic Lion (more common than African lions in captivity)
  • Sumatran Tiger (this really should’ve replaced the very rare pure Bengal tiger)
  • Sumatran Orangutan (slightly rarer than borneans but still very much a zoo staple)
  • Chilean Flamingo (Probably the next most common flamingo in captivity and distinctive from the Greater, plus represents a separate continent)
  • Eurasian Brown Bear (much like the tiger this definitely should’ve replaced the Himalayan brown bear in the base game….)
  • European Wisent (definitely need to flesh out European roster with a lot of snubs due to North American counterparts being included)
  • Eurasian Beaver (same as the Wisent)
  • Humboldt Penguin (it’s similar to the African but by FAR the most common zoo penguin)
  • Tufted Capuchin (like the penguin, this is far and away the most common capuchin)
  • Grey Kangaroo (Red needs its counterpart!)

Two I would like but I’m not sure are deserving of a spot:
  • Green Peafowl (variety is the spice of life and they are fairly common in captivity, but I’m not sure we need two peafowl)
  • a second Zebra species (while all three are common in captivity and further divided into subspecies, I’m not sure they’re than distinctive to warrant addition).

Ones I would not want:
  • A second leopard (the Amur is largely the staple leopard in captivity and while the African is more iconic globally, zoo-wise it is very rare, the other Asian subspecies are also rare).
  • another gorilla (the Western is the only one with any foothold in captivity, eastern or mountains would be pointless)
  • another ostrich (the Somali ostrich is not exactly a common animal in captivity..)
I should note though that these additions should not be paid, they should be quick clones whipped up and released in a free update towards the end of the game’s content lifecycle to flesh out the final roster with some diversity.

There’s a handful of others they could go with too, but again I’m not sure they’re very relevant.
  • Patagonian Sea Lion
  • Lar Gibbon
  • Nile Crocodile
  • Arabian Oryx
  • Eurasian Otter
  • North American River Otter
  • Six-Banded Armadillo
