Why am I being completely IGNORED?

I have PMed the DEVS about this problem, posted about it on forums and everything, but it doesn’t seem to matter HOW many times I post about it on the planet coaster forums, it just seems to get ignored and it’s a problem that needs addressing in time for the upcoming update!

I want to build an entrance building and shopping plaza using the panel wall, but each time I try to use different colours for it, they clip through on one side and it’s really annoying! I am rather hoping that when this next update is released, this problem will be solved, all that needs doing really is wall pieces... no matter WHAT type they are, need to be able to flip vertically, so that you can turn certain ones upside down such as curves and triangles, this I feel will put an end to the problem I have mentioned on forums several times, but like I've said, it doesn't seem to matter HOW MANY times I complain about this problem, it just seems to get swept under the carpet, like they're hoping it'll disappear by itself, well tbh I don't think this problem is GOING to disappear without HELP!

You see the curves in the picture that the arrows are pointing at? Well if we could turn those UPSIDE DOWN I think this problem would be solved!

Have you put in a bug report about it (or even a suggestion in the relevant forum)? I don't think PMs are going to help.

This is not an issue with Planet Coaster, it's just how 3D graphics work. Every single 3D game can have this issue. The walls are being placed over each other, thus fighting over what should be rendered on top. This isn't something that Frontier can fix easily, unless they implement some kind of render priority system for the user to have control over, but I would rather them spend their time working on more important fixes or features.

You have two options, make a separate building and offset it a little bit so the one wall is in front of the other, or use the art shapes to create your own designs.

Frontier is well aware of these kinds of clipping, they can't really do much about it. (It's how "virtual" 3D rendering works)

Normally there should be one side on every grid object that won't clip and one side that does (some dev showed it on of the youtube livestreams a while ago)
You could also make the suggestion for extra wall pieces that work around the clipping (or indeed make it possible to mirror/flip objects)

Some tips I can give, make 2 walls (seperate buildings) and ofset one wall to not see any clipping.
OR make the wave shape in the wall with actual shapes (scenery), instead of (on-grid) wall pieces.


Like shaneturner12 already said, you could try the bug report section or make an actuall bug report... BUT they did mention it and are aware of it, and can't fix it...

Also keep in mind: They are getting ALOT of (daily) pm's so chances are they just don't have the time to read and or answer everyone of them.

Many people have requested the ability to rotate walls, it was possible during alpha but the devs said it was an unintended glitch, it can also be achieved using mods, but when you overlap 2 pieces you risk having them clip like that, you could try separating the pieces side by side instead of directly on top of each other

The only reason that it’s not possible to rotate wall pieces upside down because the developers are that busy putting rides and coasters in, they are probs finding it hard to [/B]make[/B] it possible! Even if they only made it possible to flip the curves and triangles etc upside down, it would be a lot better, the rectangles and squares are fine as they are!

I've needed flipped triangles a few times for my buildings and had to redesign to avoid using them. They would be super handy, such a shame we don't have them.

Or maybe it's not that they "CBA", but instead maybe it's because there is currently a lot of stuff they are working on, and this isn't a priority at the moment? Perhaps if you submit this suggestion of wall rotation on that axis, PROPERLY, then it might garner enough support for them to look at implementing it? Sure, things like this can be frustrating, but you have to learn to live with it for now. It's not exactly a game breaker.

I like the idea of those specific pieces also having upside down versions but I don't think it needs this kind of unnecessary outrage.

I think within a years time we will see a mod that lets us rotate these pieces. Or maybe the devs will think "Why the heck not, have at it" [wink]

OP offered a solution that has been mentioned like thousandtimes already here on the forum. It is problem with Planet Coaster. While this clipping is normal, there is a solution for it (at least partial) and that´s allowing us to rotate walls.So, where can I sign this?

It's already explained it's not a bug but way of design. You should make a suggestion and keep patient like everyone else.

I understand why he posted this thread into discussion forum and it sounds he is frustrated. I´m just wondering, why don´t Frontier clear this one up already? Will they do that or not and if not why? Whoops, sorry Eva And yes, I know we are all waiting for solutions. But isn´t that a reason to tell us? I mean, most of the community here is waiting for something and I think we all have few wishes in common. I don´t think there would be anyone against this wall rotation. But yes, for now we can only wait...

IMO the wall pieces should be rotatable on all axes and it was possible at one point during the alpha but was an 'unintended glitch' surely they can re-enable that without too much work?
I can see how this could potentially cause issues with grids but sometimes I want a wall on a slope or to use the gridded flat roofs on a slight slope for a foor that osnt as harsh as the sloped pieces provided.

I also understand game development isnt as simple as reacting to every user request - the team will have a list of things they want to add and this is probably on it due to being quite regularly requests but time, budgets and game direction will determine what things get worked on and at what priority - for all we know this could potentially be in the November update as they have said they have more things to share about the update.

How i get round this is to make the red section a new building and offset it by a tiny amount. They you get rid of the z fighting.

This wont be changing I dont think. Its how the wall pieces are set out. If you rotate them you'll find that they don't z-fight. But that doesnt help if you want the wall a certain way round.

If you're okay with multiple buildings just separate and off set the offending pieces.
