Why are CMDR's distinguished from NPC's on the radar

I really dont understand it.

Would it not have been better if we all looked the same?

The only reason I can see for this is for PvP'ers to easily hunt players.

Would it not be MORE exciting if we did NOT know who we were interdicting - not to mention feel more realistic?

The CMDR prefix gives it away anyway, so you would need to remove that as well.
