Why are the bounties so low for interdicted haulers who kill interdicters PvP?

Higher bounties would encourage more PvP I think and add some more spice to the game???

Maybe it could be related to the value of the cargo being hauled?

I think I have seen it said that player bounties are capped to avoid groups farming them amongst themselves.

Yes, I've heard the same, people racking up huge bounties just so their friend could kill them and collect.

Yes, this is the reason the cap was introduced, as some people were gaining a lot of bounty and them letting their friends kill them for it and got rich very quickly. The cap was introduced early days, when earning money wasn't as easy as it is now.

I think it could be easily increased now that the money earning is so easy.

The vast majority of Elite players is not interested in PvP. Higher bounties won't change that. If you want to PvP you'll have to search for dedicated PvP groups and/or hang out in Shinrarta Dezhra, Deciat, San Tu and/or go to Community Goals.
