Why are the Titan named after gods of thunder and rain?

Everything about Thargoids seem to refer to thunder, lightning and storms. Even the word Thargoid seems to share the same root with Tharapita, Thor, Taranis, Taara and other old northern European deities of storms, thunder and lightning. Thargoids do a special lightning attack, they leave behind caustic clouds, their ships have a spiral symmetry like cyclones etc. Even the sounds they make remind of rolling thunder. That their ship classes are named after Greek mythology is an outlier in this context.

One thing to keep in mind: they were named when they were still travelling anomalies (stargoids), so there were no Maelstroms, Titans, caustic clouds, etc. Just speculation.
FDev obviously knew what they were going to be, and I assume the writers chose those names to give a hint of foreshadowing, but in terms of lore, there was nothing solid, for whoever chose the names, to pick one set of names over another, so they just went with a theme historically associated with powerful natural disruption (and relevant divinity).
