Why are the unusable areas of the maps so big?

Why are the maps so big but they only gave us a tiny square to build in? The max size of the buildable area is tiny compared with the rest of the biome. Look how tiny the park area is compared with the "skirt". I guess it's the whole issue with lag as to why the parks can only be so big. The rest of the land is just for show and to hide the skybox.

You should be able to build as big as the furthest selectable trees are. However frontier have disabled building there to prevent lag (game is laggy anyway when building realistic parks)

Yes, It's for show and hiding.

You would rather have seen the game world cut off at the edge of the map?

Well, RCT 1-2 was like that. At the edge of the maps was just black void. At least Planet Coaster hides the void but if you go under the ground with the mouse you will see a black hole below. There was a hack posted on reddit that would let you build coasters, etc. beyond the white dotted line into the skirt but not sure if it would work anymore since the scenario editor update. This hack was pre-scenario editor. I saw pics of Theme Park Studio with a very large flat map as well as No Limits 2. Someone made a Valleyfair in NL2 and you can see from the zoomed out screenshot that there is a very large area of land to work with in NL2. But I tried NL2 and it sucks. Not as good as PC. I hope the word sucks is an acceptable word on here. Sorry for using it but that's how I felt about NL2 compared with PC. It's too complicated to build coasters with and no people and flat rides are just static models that move. PC is also the only newer amusement park game with transport rides like steam trains. I'm a train fan. I like to ride trains, especially old steam trains on tourist railroads and park trains.
