Why are their PP NPC's everywhere?

Seriously. I'm in a Torval controlled system, but this happens literally every system.

You drop into the Nav Beacon,RES site, or any other place in the bubble, and their are enemy PP NPC's there. a lot of them.

Every         time.

Why? I'm 100LY from the nearest aliiance controlled system. There is no reason for them to be here. I can understand if every so often other agents flew into enemy territory for spying or what have you, but this is just pure combat ships from 2-3 other powers just         about in every single Nav Beacon, RES site, USS signal, station, outpost, planet, in SC, literally there is no escape.

It would be something if these events were actually tied to power play, but they arent. They are just there to make pledged CMDR's miserable. They dont give merits, their bounty is usually 500CR for assault and ofc they are usually master or above so the new AI is just upping your repair cost because hey screw you.

Seriously what is the point of systems being "controlled" if enemy agents just run around doing whatever they want all the time. It doesnt even make sense.

It just seems like they don't even want us to play PP because the risk and time outweighs the reward far too much:rolleyes:

Because the game has a stupid propensity to throw NPC interdictions at you, sense be damned. Seriously, this has frustrated the crap out of me ever since the Power Play update. I've lost all hope that it will ever get better.

Yup, i'd joined up with Torval to get the mining lasers. Ended up deciding it wasn't worth it. Interdiction spam, getting attacked exiting stations, enemies turning up everywhere. And no idea why, but they seemed a lot more powerful than the regular NPCs i was encountering.

Basically was too much of a pain and was stopping me getting anything done. I spent more time fighting interdictions or running from enemies than anything else.

I'm not even talking about interdictions. I'm mostly talking about just how many PP NPC's are just around for no real reason. Why are there alliance agents 140LY away from their power? why are their ALSO NPC's from Hudson AND Rui here? why are they ALL ATTACKING ME TOGETHER.

It's one bad mechanic stacking on top of another to end up with a ridiculous situation that would never actually happen. Even if I *wasnt* in PP if I was running around empire space why are their so many tons of their enemies.

Also why arent my allies anywhere around? I have twenty thousands of the enemy powers but I've never seen any other Imperial forces around. You'd think the empire's controlled space would have way more...well, IMPERIAL ships.

like I understand they want to make it an engaging experience but you have to actually think it through. It doesn't make sense for every signle system to be under siege constantly by other powers.

Or at least give me merits for killing them. SOMETHING.

I don't mind that PP NPCs are stronger than others, it's like the police, it makes sense logically. What doesn't make sense is that they are literally everywhere and unavoidable and they all immediately fly straight at you unrealistically and have no upside to their appearance. They are literally a nuisance that benefits no one and breaks immersion and runs up your repair bill since 9/10 their bounty is negligible.

MMm Yes

Sometime the only ships in SC are SAV and PP Agents, and by Agents I mean the Road agent type, not even the logistics ones.

No Civilian Traffic what so ever

And I not pledged to anyone so me being there should not factor in, in case it does.

I wouldn't mind so much if the PP NPC's made it worth my while. When I'm Bounty Hunting, I'm usually in a group. Here they come and tap me on the shoulder. 9 times out of 10, the NPC's gank them before I can even get a shot in on them.
So much for "...you've just jumped out of your last system..." Turns out...was the last time they did...no wait...static npc...it'll be back in 5...4...3...2... There it is!!

All I want is to have it worth my time to have them bug the crap out of me...oh...and to have them stop cheating with the 285 in reverse and strafing at well over 300. That's not skill...it's cheating and rubbing your face in it.
If a player did that, they'd have been reported and banned. I think it's time to ban the cheating NPC's. Either that or make them persistent with a longer re-spawn.

Yeah I am especially annoyed by that when I'm looking for pirates or other specific NPC's and everyone and their mother is either PP or SSV. There are no citizens here, what are you guys out protecting? They need to seriously reel back the spawn rate of PP NPCs or give us merits for defending and dealing with them. until then I'm just not going to bother with PP

It's too bad too because PP seemed interesting and now we can move powers up and down with the new CG but unfortunately the mechanic is broken atm so who really cares.

As for the AI that's for a different thread.

Yeah, it's very strange. I'm seeing a ton in Resource Extraction Sites. Not that it bothers me being unpledged. Just weird.

I had my first rage quit today because of this (poor keyboard). [hotas]
I had 9 tons of cargo worth around 3-4k credits (commodities needed for engineer mods) and 4-5 ships attacked me after one minute, half(!) of them were various PP agents.
This happened in a high RES multiple times. Sometimes the police doesn't want to show up, sometimes they just won't help me, I'm not wanted and the system is exploited by my Superpower of choice.

What the hell is going on here? If there're a lot of agents, how come I don't see one that I'm allied with?
Why do the NPCs take the risk of dying/paying fines/paying insurence for minimal amount of CRs? (not to mention that I have a deadly combat rank and a military ship armed to the teeth)
Why am I the only intersting thing for agents and pirates in a RES?

I really hope FDev will look into this one day.

Funny, I was looking at PowerPlay last week trying to find something else to do in the game. Came across stories like this and the fact that PP just becomes a major annoyance to players. Needless to say, I'm not coming near it with a ten foot pole.

Well said commander, from bottom of my hearth i agree with you.

I'm just not seeing it now, but I have used them spawning on me to my advantage near stations. I haven't seen any pp npc in about a week and I'm pledged to ALD. I've been killing all the npcs in Nav beacons and resetting instances. I have seen the crazy pp npcs in the past though
