Looking for shipyard with Cobra MKIV. I went to https://eddb.io/station and searched their database for nearby stations. I've been to 4 of them that the site says has it but it wasn't in any of their shipyards. For 2 of them it says their shipyard was updated 1 day ago. For the last one I went to it says it was updated 11 hours ago. Still no Cobra Mk IV is actually there like the site says. Now I've already spent an hour just flying around to these and am not sure how to proceed next. Any advice?

Newcomer / Intro Why can't I find a Cobra Mk IV at any stations?

The Cobra Mk. IV is only available to people who preordered Horizons. If you didn't preorder Horizons, you won't see it.
Right on the money there, have some rep. Before Feb 2016 Horizons was classed as it's own separate game and not DLC. The Cobra mk IV was given to to players who bought the game prior to then, along with a couple of other minor additions as a thanks.
When it changed to DLC for a cheaper price new players didn't get the ship as a perk.
Although I don't have any information to support it, I have a feeling Cobra IV will get derestricted at some stage. I don't think that will happen until we reach Season 3, but maybe when starting some season after Horizons has finished. I think Corbra IV will end up as a bonus 'during' Horizons, in other words. Just my opinion.
It's more likely they'd add it as a micro transaction, though having it as the top prize in one last CG in season 2 wouldn't go a miss.
Waitaminute. I`m sure I`ve seen the Cobra mark IV several times for sale at stations. I have Horizons, but I didn`t pre-order it. I shall look again.
You never had to preorder it, just buy it at full price before it was DLC.
As Micky says, you just had to purchase horizons before a certain date to qualify.
TO Jogan - If I could, I'd let you have mine, it never fitted-in for me and I really don't like it, although some do. I don't think you are missing anything.

It's always irked me that I was out of the country for a year during 2015/2016 and wasn't even aware that Horizons was happening until it was too late to pre-order it.
I kind of want a Cobra 4 even though I know being able to get one now would negate the entire reason for actually wanting one... if you see what I mean.
Possibly related, I've always thought that if FDev wanted to do a bit of good PR, they could organise some kind of charity event where they auction/raffle, say, 100 of every kind of ship which all come with a special-edition paint-job or something.
They could do it every year, to coincide with Red-nose day or summat.

They did a raffle and an auction a while back in aid of charity - repaints and decals for making a donation [yesnod] and prize draws (I never won nuffink [mad] ) - LEP(s?) were up for blind auction but I didn't win one there either, although I didn't bid much above what I paid for one when they were on sale. [money]
I like your suggestion and I think at the very least we could have a red-nose repaint sale for charity (maybe even a red-nose bobble-nose

Phew! I thought I had Alzheimer's! I saw the venerable Monkey's first comment & assumed I must be mistaken!
That gives me renewed confidence in my memory; I think the Cobra MkIV was just a reward to anyone who bought 'Elite: Dangerous' in the first year...then subsequently purchased Horizons. I remember being less than enamoured with it after testing & thinking, which exclusive ship would we be 'rewarded' with for our loyalty in Season 3....the Hauler MkII!? Can't wait!
