Two things I can think of...
One, it's too slow for a spolier to have any aerodynamic effect in atmospheric flight.
Two, the T-9 is so slow, the drag from a spolier actually makes it go backwards.
(My contempt for the T-9 had no role in forming the above speculation and conjecture.... probably)

Spoilers are useless in space. There is no air in space, you don't get the down force to keep your tyres firmly on the road. This is a bloody space ship, not a F1 racing car
