Engineers Why can't I see any engineer?

Hi,

It's been a couple of weeks since I upgraded to 2.1 and I have yet to receive an invitation. I have ranks of master/entrepreneur/trailblazer so I would expect to fulfill the meeting requirements for the 3 "basic" engineers. On the galaxy map I have no purple marker. I do have yellow markers for the community goals so I know I have the right version (plus new outfitting and mission designs). I have uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times without results. Any suggestion would be very welcome.

Thanks CMDRs

And if you do have horizons are you actually logged into horizons?

You are given the choice on the launcher of what to start. The other day I couldn't work out why I could not land on a landable planet. It turns out I was playing Elite Dangerous without horizons.

^What they said^

+ The engineers mostly have quite obscure requirements for introductions (not just ranks). For example Elvira Martuuk will only say hello if you've travelled more than 300Ly from your starting system. And as the above guys said, make sure youre loading up the right version (ie 2.1 not 1.6).

Thanks for your answers. I certainly paid for horizons ( i just checked my account) but as I never tried to actually land on a planet you are making me doubt...I will check tonight. Hopefully I am not stupid enough to pay for horizon and play 1.6 :)

From the ED Launcher, Horizons is a separate selectable entry. If you don't see that then perhaps it's a case of needing to reinstall the launcher, or logging out and back in to the launcher.

Well the good news is that I am not stupid, the bad news is that I am connected to horizon... Any other idea?

Felicity Farseer loves Explorers. Your Explorer rank must be Scout or better for her.
Elvira Martuk too loves Explorers. You must be away from your Start System about 300 light years if she should accept you.
The Dweller want to get to know you only if you dealt with at last 5 different black markets.
Tod 'The Blaster' McQuinn only knows you, when you earned more than 15 bounty vouchers.

If you fulfilled things of these and dont see invitations in your in game e-mails (Key -2-, tab -4-) then I suggest to file a support ticket: https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/index.php

Edit: In Galaxy map, the markers could be deactivated. Look at the last tab in galaxy map.
Additional you can get the engineers info if you press key -4- and then ENTER.

well on Inara ithe only requirement mentioned is to be ranked scout for exploration. I am a trailblazer so that one should be met....

If you look at the right panel, there should be an 'engineers' at the bottom. Click that, which will open the engineers popup display. That should list all the basic engineers at least, and it should also list which of the requirements you have met and which ones you haven't. Should be fairly straight forward from there.

Unfortunately there is no engineer on the right panel. What is really surprizing is that in the inventory tab I have materials. But no engineer on any tab

Maybe the Inara info isn't completely accurate? Which would be weird, I am Mostly Harmless and Aimless and got an invitation from Todd the first thing when I logged on. Can you see the purple icon in the Galaxy map?

Right Panel - tab 'STATUS' - to the right below is highlited 'VIEW ENINEERS'. Just hit ENTER key to open this.

If you are playing through steam you need to claim a separate product key from the FD site and add it to your Steam Account through +add a game.

unfortunately I cant post a printscreen but I promise you it is not there on any tab

No I bought directly on FD website

It's weird, it acts as if you weren't playing 2.1 but 1.6. I think that raising a ticket is nice next step.

Can you land on planets?
