The fact that this bug has existed for more than a day or two is astounding.
Considering that you can't use it as a credit exploit I find it amusing that you would consider it to be astounding...
Apparently this is still an issue because I don't see the current CG in Odyssey and therefore can't sign up.
Well, you can, just go into Horizons. Hopefully it will be sorted in Patch 7.
Yes you can, but you have to fly to the system and station/megaship etc... where the CG is being held.
I have the same issue (this week) and did not find it in the issue tracker
I was there at the megaship, but the CG wasn't visible. I restarted the game like 10 times, and then suddenly it was visible. So in the end I did manage to sign up. Guess it's still a bit buggy in Odyssey.

Do i have to relog at the CG station to be able to perform the sorcery of joining the CG? (tried some 5-6 times at a random station without success... and i refuse to start in Horizons)

7th time worked as a charm... (well, that was a hyperbole... there is nothing charming in relogging... on the other hand, supercruising in/out... meh /sarcasm off)
