I just earned enough to buy a large ship and thought I'd try passenger missions. Picked up the Beluga Liner and outfitted it according to an old guide (class D for most systems, class A FSD, etc.). The outfitting screen lists the Jump Min/Current/Max at 23.19 | 23.94 | 25.31.
I took an Adventure Seeker mission to start things off (Route: FK5 2550 > Epsilon Indi > LHS 3931 > Vistaenis > Te Kaha > FK5 2550) of probably around 1K LY. A good ways into it I realized that my jump range was the same as every other ship I've had (Sidewinder, Cobra MkIII, Krait MkII) with jumps ranging from 2 to 11 LY. Trying to plot a jump farther than that gave a message about Fuel Use Limit stating a maximum range of 11.7 LY. So by the time I was done with that mission I had cartography data from 114 systems to sell and very annoyed that it should have been half that.
<edsy.org build>
What am I missing? How is my maximum jump half the stated minium? Surely they don't expect a Liner to run long routes on a 5% Fuel Tank (assuming that would even make that much difference and the stated Minimum and Current should include such basic variables).
