Why can't we select the other binary star to jump to or simply speed up to cover those 10k+ ls destinations?

I won't complain about the loading screens since i have no idea what game development is. Supercruise just feels like torture when i've done nothing wrong except not check where my mission led to. The realism of planets not being close to their stars makes sense. Why not make a lil drop down panel to jump to the other star or let us make a "micro jump" within 2k ls of the destination or something? That would leave people the option of taking the long route.

It has been asked before and the answer seems to be. That's the game like it or not.

I'd pay credits, hell even real money to not spend 10 minutes or more in supercruise banging my head against the desk to the beat of whatever music im listening to.

Change your music :p Bach is good. :)
I've flown 200kls to tag a star leaving the close ones just because it is relaxing and I was born into the awkward squad.
You know the old saying: 'Lie back and think of England'. ;) Not that I am English, heaven forbid.

Well a idea for you is next time do research before posting a topic that been talk about before.

Now complaining about distance. Why not just go to another system. There about 1,000 system with stations on them. There are also players that want to feel the vastness of space like Hutton Orbital Radio At the most I waited was 17 Minutes I think that was 550k ls. If I wanted to feel lazy I jump to a different system.

200kls, is that all? I've done 350kls+ to scan a body that should have volcanism. Of course I have a fair idea already by the system makeup and age etc, so I don't do it without research!

Seems to me this is what's missing with the OP, research!

10k ls is nothing.

Some engineers are out further than that. Lol

Hyperspace to a secondary star is a much requested feature.
But it needs to be well balanced, or it just becomes lazy fast travel that ruins the games scale.

On the other hand, we also need more supercruise activities, which aren't meant to slow you down, like Interdictions or signal sources.

You can read galnet now though. It's under powers on the left navigation panel. Been playing 18 months and only became aware of it (after someone told me) a few weeks ago. Lol

No complaining allowed until you've taken your ship the 0.22LY (yes Y not S) to Hutton Orbital. That's 6.7 Million LS, not your couple of thousand.
An hour and 20 minutes to listen to any music you like, or even watch a shortish movie.

And yes, you do get faster, up to 2000+ C

Fly safe now Commander and rethink complaining about piddly small distances like 100kLS.

But where is the science to say no??? Currently the FSD lands us at whatever star FDev have determined to be the "main" star, but given star systems have stars that orbit each other, not just one, there is no gravitational difference between either star so no scientific reason for there no to be a choice of which star to land at given any kind of lure on how the FSD hyperspace jump works!!

If a system has 2 stars, 200k LS apart, one star doesn't sit still whilst the others circles in a 400k orbit, they both spin around the same orbit lines following each other whilst orbiting the systems centre of mass, so really the FSD should be dropping us at that centre not some superficially picked "master" star

I can't argue with your logic and I won't :)

I will only put forward what I think FD's position might be.
It takes some of the achievement out of exploring and doing missions. In other words it makes it (too?) easy.

Oh yeh, that'd be too gamey lol :p

micro jumps would be too much of a shortcut. being able to change the star you jump to for the next jump would be nice. like we have now with planets and moons, the system should have as many "moons" as it has stars in the navigation overview
