Why can't we *STILL* can't land on the moon?

I was going to ask if the thread title is the reciprocal of an can-can... then I was going to ask what a can-can is.

Yeppers, built it in his basement.

Nah, he just rented the house out to Newton. Gotta read that fine print.

And here I thought it was Newton's house and Einstein remodeled it. Shows what I know.

like in other procedural engines, you can put hand made stuff into the game (for example in space engine you can add hand made assets but even in the old Elite 2 there was Earth with main cities and you can land on them). the problem is you have to hand made them and it will take a lot of work and occupy a lot of memory.
Map-based terrain engine is very different from procedural one. E.g. you will need all terrain based on actual DEM model of the moon and scale down all way from here (so terrain appear to smoothly blend all the way down from orbit).
Its not as simple as putting some 3d model in, its quite big programming work and hardly worth it just for dozen of Solar system moons.

ED has support for orbital view handmade textures (original ED starforge) - but not on the planetary surface level (horizons engine).

How long has it been? It was promised and there hasn't been any progress. When can we expect to land on the moon?

And if FD isn't going to allow us to land on the moon, ever, then might as well blow it up and make an event of it. Blowing up the moon will solve a lot of problems, won't it?

Because we haven´t legs to do moonwalker!
