Engineers Why did you break my shields?

Seriously, it takes longer for my damn shields to recharge, even with 4 pips in systems, than it takes for a star to form, live it's life, die and become a black hole.

What is this garbage?

I literally have to park my ship somewhere and go afk for like 10-15 minutes for the      to recharge.

WHY you break my shield?

Is this from shields gone or just a ring left?

IIRC, there are two elements that should be at play here.

The recharge from broken was supposed to be sped up in 2.0 as long as you had plenty of power in your SYS. Still slow but faster than pre 2.0.

Second, shield rings have always recharged at a standard rate, regardless of shield size and class.

Personally, I haven't noticed a change...last played @ 0700 BST on my Clipper and earlier with the Vulture.

Recharging shields from 1/2 ring to 3 rings takes literally 10 minutes, and it's 100% boring to sit and idle in space for rings to recharge. And no, I am not engaging large ships with 2.1 AI with half shields.

What I get from this is that bounty hunting has been nerfed into a massive timesink.

Shield cell banks...?

Regeneration Sequence...?

Wing...?

Bi-weave...?

Shields recharge 1MJ/s. All of them. Doesn't matter how many pips you have in SYS as long as the capacitor stays charged.
If it takes longer to recharge, it simply means that you've added the shield's strength. (Maybe you've modded the boosters?)

Bi-weaves have the advantage of COMING UP quicker, but once they are up at 50% they also recharge 1MJ/s.

edit: When I am in the ship that has 1000+MJ shields, it's quicker to drop by a station and park there for a minute than wait for them to recharge (that is, if I don't want to waste my SCBs, of course)

Well, shields go down in 37 seconds.. then you wait on your ass for 10 minutes... then another dogfight... wait 10 minutes.

And shield cells overheat you like hell, plus using one after each dogfight means repeated returns to refill cells.

Mining in an icebelt is more exciting than bounty hunting at this pace.

How much shield do you have (MJ)?

37 seconds is way too quick for a combat ship.
If I were you, I'd re-calibrated your strategy. o_O

Get Bi-Weaves instead. They die quicker, but they come back much quicker too. Over time in a fight, you end up with more shield coverage than normal shields if you manage your pips right.
